*** Official Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Thread ***

I knew i should have just waited to buy it on release day instead of pre-ordering for £40 a few weeks ago. Now it has already been dispatched so i can't cancel it and buy tomorrow instead for cheaper. Might still get it in the morning and return the one i pre-ordered

on another note ive been playing a couple of hours and love it. but ill be dammed if i can get it to find an online match !

also how many players is this supposed to be online ?

OMFG! It just died

I can't afford a new console, this sucks.

EDIT: It's started up again, if it goes again I'm going to have to strip it down and shove it in the oven again. Cba if I'm honest, but finding a cheap replacement without having all the bundled crap included will be hard.

If I still lived in Liverpool you could have borrowed mine for a while. Never play it and getting MW2 on PS3 instead!

What should I do OcUK?

A) Finally play WaW which I haven't played since getting it on xmas day last year to tide me over until 25th December.

or..

B) Tell my dearest mother her xmas present is now an early one. :D

get her to give you WAW as an xmas present and play MW2 now!

she will never know!

Well it's been unplugged and the screwdrivers are out, oven is getting warm...

Operation Oven Baked Xbox Part 2 is underway.

Point is, your post was intended to drive people away from doing business at OcUK. E.g. Buy it at xyz, it's cheaper.

In this instance they don't sell the game but you get the picture. It's just a rule to cover any eventualities.

I doubt many people 'intend to drive people away from doing business at OcUK'. A lot of people on these threads have bought & will carry on buying from Overclockers.

There is just no sense in people getting so retentive about 'THE RULES', when things that don't even really affect OcUK are mentioned!

We could go down a myriad of avenues where mentioning your local hardware store, etc. could potentially cost OcUK a sale - but common sense has to prevail.

Or alternatively, let's just be big brother & slap a banning order on everyone - just in case they say something that could be misinterpreted as a slight to the company.

This is what im going to do..

Gonna get it for £26 tomorrow from supermarket, then return my £44.99 pre-order.

I only mentioned it because I was giving a friendly reminder. If I mentioned a competitor(which I have done in the past by mistake) I am thankful for those that pointed out I had done so. This enabled me to edit out my post and not receive warnings/bannings.

my only worry is that the sainsburys around here will not have nearly enough stock to meet the demand, Its clear they are using this a loss leader to bring people in looking for the game and when they dont have the stock you nose around the shop buying other pap.

hmmm

Indeed, but that is what the mods are for.

If someone RTM's a post, they look at it and decide if it breaks the rules. They do use judgement; not every post RTM'd is actioned.

Now, people usually refer from posting any form of competitor that sells PC hardware, peripherals or consoles etc because they don't fancy a holiday.

The mods usually say if you don't like it, go elsewhere.. the forums are provided free and it's on their rules etc etc

But you're forgetting that some (especially these) forums become a community. I'd prefer it to be a community where people can say things (with respect) without a constant feeling that someone from above will exile them because a very strict set of 'rules' have been compromised.

My point essentially, is that these rules should be revisisted, and a little more common sense should be applied. I'd prefer a bit more democracy for users.

Just saying 'if you don't like, get out', is not very progressive.

My mate's shop has been selling it all day for £49.99 today :p No shortage of punters ready to pay more to have it before midnight from the supermarkets it seems :p
