*** Official Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Thread ***

Just casually drove down to morrisons, snapped this up at £25.99, no queue, no fuss, brilliant :D Will be on soon, if anyone wants to add me my psn ID is FittleLucker.

According to this thread (some many pages back) they're only resetting stats for those who downloaded the game illegally.

If you bought it legit and it got shipped early then you're fine.

Thanks a lot mate, kinda gutted as I played terrible for a fair few games and was a bit careless :(

Well, I half expected this, but after going to both of the cheap supermarkets, every single copy of MW2 has sold out, and the other chain had a clause that in order to get the discount you had to buy another game, but not another MW2 (shame as I was planning on picking up a copy for a mate suck in work too).

Oh well, I don’t fancy the prospect of paying high street prices just to get this on release day, so I order online for £32 – that’s an acceptable price for a new released imo, let’s hope that Assassins Creed 2 also comes out at this price too!

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

GAME - £44.99
Shopto - £42.99
Tesco - £39.99 (£25 if you buy Top 20 game)
ASDA - £32.00
Rainforest place - £32.00
Woolworths - £29.97
Sainsburys - £26.00
Morrisons - £25.99
Makro - £20.00

HOLY COMPETITOR POST BATMAN!

Feek cleared it up earlier in the thread (and via email to me).

If they don't primarily sell PC hardware, it's fine.. hence why I changed one other name, just to be sure :p

I'm a tiny bit confused now. So the rules have been relaxed? You can now name game and shopto because they don't "primarily sell PC hardware" but have to call the other place rainforest which is a hint anyway

I'm not questioning the rules I just find it a tad confusing with the stores you have named. Supermarkets I can understand but are game selling stores now allowed?

been playing campaign for about an hour and half and so far im not impressed, it seems like all im doing is walking through the game, 90% of the time it doesnt matter if i kill anyone or not. too scripted in my opinion. its certainly no halo.

i still have faith multiplayer should be good though, will give that a shot in a bit.

Totall agree, the airport level was a joke tbh. No sooner did it start than it was over and apart from a few cops with riot sheilds it wasn't a challenge at all :(

IMO this is stacking up to be COD4.2 and unless the co-op is amazing I feel eveyone (inc myself) has fallen for the hype train :(

COD 4 was scripted pap, run to an invisible line and the enemies stop spawning. I don't suppose many people actually think cod 4 is a truely great single player experience.

Infact I dont actually know anyone who bought it (MW2) for that reason. They bought it soley for the MP. I'd have been just as happy for a MP only disc next time.

All I really wanted was mods and maps for COD4. :)

The Spec Op missions are rather good fun.
My favourite one so far is where you're in a snow covered forest and have to get past the guards without attracting any attention to yourself.

lol - i'm finding it hard on regular :D

LOL same here...its a tough game but so far im loving it...didnt really like the airport scene...having to kill all those people...mind you i didnt gun anyone down other than the armed guards:p

Also i had my copy come with a code for some exclusive gamerpics...followed the instructions on the card supplied but everytime i go to put the code in...it keeps coming back as invalid:confused:.

Has anyone else noticed that??? or am i the only one who got the exclusive gamerpic card within my copy??:p

i was looking forward to that level because i'd heard the press and thought i'd like to see how they pull it off in a meaningfull way.

turns out it was purely put in to get press as it wasnt done for any good reason, or even half decent reason.

no need for it at all except to generate press.

just played my first game of multiplayer, party got seperated into 2 games :/ but it was fun anyway.

Still not recieved my order from Parcel Force.
It's especially annoying when you think that it was actually dispatched a whole week ago.

If they had sent it via regular Royal Mail like in the past, rather than by courier, I'm sure I would have it by now.

It was one of my all time favourite single player experiences.
I bought 2 for that reason, and will be looking forward to the MP as well.

I've not even touched the single player yet (other than 10 mins on the old Spec Ops mission) 4 hours 50 of multiplayer last night, I like a lot of things they have done. Imo though some perks are seriously over powered... But fun when you get them :D

Same here, it just seems silly now to pre order these big hit releases. my local supermarket was packed with people waiting and I get it shrink wrapped as well which is more than I can say for some major retail outlets.

I nearly bought a PS3 also but didn't have the cash on me :\, some really good deals at the moment.

Not only do I hate queing up, but to save a few quid possibly spending hours to do so seems stupid. £34 saw the game land on my doorstep on Saturday.

Hey EVH!

Just so you know, competitors are very context specific - If someone mentions (for example) Sainsburys in the context of games, OcUK don't sell games so it's not really treated as a competitor mention. Same with (again, for example) Amazon - If someone is talking about buying a book from Amazon then there's no problem mentioning the company name.

If there's a post saying "Hey, I bought a PC from Tesco" though, that would count as a competitor.

In other words, no need to RTM when people are talking about buying games :)

Feek.

I hope you don't mind me posting this, Feek.

Brilliant, thanks for clearing that up :)
