*** Official Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Thread ***

Played for a good hour or so last night on TDM MP and no host drops or lag at all, constant 4 green bars.

Was lurvly. :D

17 kill streak as well  YEEAAAAHHHHHHHH

Was that 360 or PS3?

I remember the PS3 WaW connection problems at launch, sounds so far like everything is going ok.

360.

To be honest, over the weekend when there were only 25,000 or so people on, it was absolutely peachy, and it seemed like I was playing with people in Ireland a lot. Last night, almost 500,000 people on and it was not as good.

I'm not particularly impressed with MW2. They've just tacked on a couple of new 'features' which aren't anything special. Essentially, it's MW with new maps, weapons and SP.

I prefer COD4 at this point but it may grow on me like WAW did.

Also, 1/3 matches I join are really laggy.

COD4 for me is near perfect, certainly the best FPS for me since Goldeneye. Even if they just spruced up COD4 a bit I would be happy, if it ain't broke don't fix it!

I really need to just go home and play the game, not getting any work done here lol.

Meh... at least WAW tried to add new elements on top of COD4's base.

WaW felt like a step backwards to me. Didn't hold my attention anywhere close to MW.

MW2 MP feels like a huge step forward for the game. Looks better, feels better to play, sounds and environments much improved and more varied, more exciting, more satisfying.

Some of those maps are amazing. Terminal and Estate are incredible (first two that spring to mind).

Totally agree with all of that. The updated perks are spot on, and the whole levelling up thing seems even more satisfying. I didn't think MW could be much improved on in that respect, but they have managed it IMO.

As mentioned by Feek please stop abusing the RTM feature! And that includes you "Roboffer"

The disguising of shop names is getting a bit over-cautious here.

If you're discussing products that OcUK don't sell then there's no problem in mentioning the shop names, so use your common sense.

So if you're talking about Tesco selling games, then it's fine to mention Tesco. If you're talking about Tesco selling computer components then it's a no-no. Same goes for other companies - If you can get a good deal on a game at Blockbuster then it's fine to say Blockbuster but not if you're discussing products that OcUK sell.

Realistically, supermarket mentions are fine, just don't get into discussions about major competitor websites that mainly stock PC components.

I think it may take some time for people to adjust to the new rulings, hell this place closed down not too long ago for people talking about supermarkets and game stores.

Its been bred into people for the last 2 years that these places are no go mentions. May take a little while for some to see that it's now allowed :)
