Engagement

when she gose for a show or bath and takes of one of her rings take it , she then stress out and be sad that she lost one of her rings, get the engagement ring of the corrrect size using the ring you borrowed to help . then come xmas you can go "honey i got you a new ring" while on one knee , thats how I would do it lol

He's probably smart enough to find one of my friends who knows pretty much what I like - though it's becoming fairly obvious I prefer older traditional looking things to modern stuff... :)

As long as it's sturdy and withstands a few knocks... and he knows I have an aversion to diamonds, so it should be easy for him, I hope!

Good luck, chap - and yes, stealing some rings from a jewellery box may work well, or make sure you know somewhere that does resizing for a good price (so if in doubt, go a little larger) :)
 
Hold her hands gently with affection.....and try to remember/compare her finger with those of yours!
 
You don't have to steal one of her rings for any period of time. Just take one ring that you know fits on that particular finger, and try it on your little finger. Make a note of how far you can fit it on your finger, go to jewellers and find a ring that fits the same. That's her ring size :D
 
Or you could just propose without a proper ring, and if she says YES..then bring her to a jewellery shop!

I think it's nice if the blokey does choose the ring though. If you're proposing then hopefully you have an idea of what she likes, and to be honest, no girl id going to say 'Noooooo! The ring is horrible!!!'.

*just keep the receipt just in case :p In case it doesn't fit, of course ;)
 
if your getting engaged to her, im sure you'll know and udnerstand her tastes, so you can get the ring yoruself :) plus its much nicer if it comes from yo urather than her having to pick it out...

to get the right size.. steal a few rings she has.. then take to jewlers

failing that, cut fingers off.. get ring sorted, purchase superglue. bobs your auntie.
 
For all those saying "borrow a ring that fits that finger" what if the woman doesn't wear any rings on that particular finger? Most single women I know don't. My wife certainly didn't, the only rings she has worn on that finger are her engagement ring and wedding ring.
 
Aw no I def want to be proposed to with a ring. If she takes any rings off when in the shower or washing up use a piece of string to see maybe? x
