i always say 1st december, but the wife always starts twining so they always end up going up late november instead.

A way to get non christians into the christmas spirit as well?

Just treat it as a positive and all is right, I don't celebrate christmas as a christian (as many people don't), I just take the time to have a few days of relaxation and enjoyment with my family.

Someone near us had their decorations up at the middle of October!

No decorations going up here at all. Yup, I am a miserable bar steward.

lol, i always try to fight it, but she does the whole, angry that everyone else's is up and ours isnt, then the upset and depressed because it doesn't "feel" like xmas etc etc, thats usually when i cave. i need to man up and just say "shut it woman!, it's either me or the decorations....i'll go and pack"

A few people round my way had them up the day after Halloween!

I'm actually feeling rather christmassy this year and have already raided Homebase for some 1/2 price lights. Going to put them up on the 1st of December, which is quite early for me, but I'm in the mood for it, so why wait?

1st Weekend in December for us, earlier than usual but our daughter is now old enough to understand what it all means.

Used to always do them on the weekend closest to december 8th, seems about right in time, gets a good 3.5-4 weeks of tree time!
