The thing about WoW is, it's generally boring with nothing to do unless you raid or PvP bleeding edge. It's not the same game as it was years ago where you could log on and just enjoy running around, questing or doing dungeons. The novelty wore off. The raiding side, although made easier is what keep 30-40% of people, if not more, still playing. I quit and started the damn game about 5 times in the past (i've just gone back after a 3 month break) and currently I'm in a server first guild. Today is not a raid day and from the 72 people in the guild, NONE is online right now. There's nothing else to do.
 
if they deliver on even half of this ill deffo resub (well almost, depends what half) but i do have my doubts, i cant see how this much stuff can come out of nowhere, i believe at least some will be largely untested which is a worry, but now they've announced it they cant take years fine tuning the new combat system e.t.c. then again if its soon it seems ridiculous that they actually released the game with this much stuff coming up as it will completely change the game.
 
You guys sure that's an AION Trailer? I didn't see Fgjgjgjks or Dhrtrtrt, even good old Lppplpop wasn't there, and they are always there with their other friends when I play..:confused:

How did they film all that without disconnecting a few times too? :p
 
Trailer looked awesome, I played chinese Aion but stopped because... well I don't know... But this trailer makes me want to level a cleric and a gladiator all over.

They werent present as they were in the 16,000 accounts which got banned for botting 2 days ago. You'll have to wait a few days for them to buy new accounts before you see them in the next trailer :)

Maybe they didnt hit the level 50s in this round of bans, could be that they concentrated on levels 1-30 or something in this phase. Not sure without knowing more details, after all they didnt say they banned every bot, just 16,000 of them. I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt and assume that they targetted a specific group this phase, at least until I know more precise details of the ban anyway.

As I say though, I dont think that game companies are tough enough on botters, if it was me I wouldnt just ban them from the current game, I would ban them from all my companies games, past, present and any future releases too. Though that would require a better way to actually "ban" people than companies currently use.

Yup, like most open PvP games/combat zerging is a sensible way to lessen your chances of dying so its still definitely got an element of zerging to it. Run with 30 other people and you are quite likely to die a lot less than running with 5 people :)
 
Im playing the game solo now and just taking my chances within the abyss !! I might not win many battles but the rare times I meet someone solo i do okay. Think its about time I sifted through the Asmo legions and found a home, rifting is soo much better if you have company :)
 
Another 11,000 bot accounts were banned yesterday.

If you want a real laugh, go and read the forums for the 2 most popular Aion bot programs (if you know what they are)...its utterly hilarious !! :D

People on there screaming blue murder because they got multiple accounts banned, threatening to sue NCsoft and some of the copies of the emails they have sent to NCsoft pretending to be "innocent" are just comedy gold :D
 
ah its great news they are banning the botter's , certain area's were just full of small groups farming 24/7 and it was enough to make people leave the game...

hit 33 on my Ranger last night and 35 on my Spiritmaster day before, mixing the quests up with a few hours of Abyss and still really enjoying the game :)

one thing I have noticed is that equipment that boosts your speed is essential .

Yup, I actually got the chance to log in last night, work has been hectic for the last week and a bit and havent had a chance to log in until yesterday. Immediately checked the usual bots that I have written down, in their usual places. None..all gone. Couldnt find any of the ones that I normally report in Beluslan or just east of Alsig :)

The decision to terminate the account is final and no longer up for review. NCsoft cannot allow this type of activity within the game for any reason or at any time. Our goal has always been to provide a fair and safe gaming environment and cannot permit these types of activities in Aion.

The action has been thoroughly reviewed by our Appeals Team and we maintain absolute confidence in the conclusion that was reached.

The account will remain permanently closed and is not eligible for reactivation. There is nothing further that you can tell us that will change this decision.

At this time we must also respectfully inform you that any further questions regarding the account termination will be closed without response.

I'm subbed up until February, not too sure if i'll continue it.

I've got a lvl 35 Gladiator, just got a whole bunch of quests that, if i'm lucky, will give me half a level. There isn't enough quests to take you from level to level and the grinding is mind numbing.

Im a decent guild but those who work for a living are around lvl 30 and those who don't (scummers, school kids, students) are level 45+.

I like the crafting (albeit expensive) and the PVP is ok, i play with a group and have had some decent small skirmishes, although the majority seems to be gank fests.

The updates mentioned do very little for me, i don't want new graphics or extras like housing and mounts, i'd like them to fix the (what i consider) core things.

I guess the problem is that for some people it cant be "fixed" as its not broken. Just a different play style. My main is 34 at the moment, I've had to do a little grinding which I dont really mind as its strangely relaxing just hanging out with some guildies while grinding, but nothing significant, at least not compared to past MMOs that I've played. (though to be fair my favourite 2 MMOs of the last 12 years both had no quests at all, so perhaps I am used to it)

I'm almost the exact opposite of the above statement, I do want the extras like housing and mounts (housing in particular), those for me are the core things which need "fixing". Everyones different though.
