Iran - does it stop with them?

The right to vote, which the last time I checked we still have.

See, i'm still sticking to my original point about the voting and Iraq issue, instead of trying to go off on some civil liberties crusade :)

What original point?

The public didn't want a war in Iraq and yet we were forced into it and voting for a party who doesn't stick by there promises, what's the point in voting at all?

It's quite simple old chum. If this country was so vehemently disgusted and horrified by a repugnant and shameless war that you would have us believe it was, then the voters would have spoken at the next General Election in 2005 and the Liberal democrats would have done amazingly.

As it so happens, it was a bit of a mess of a war, which was entered into on poor intelligence, the usual hippies and lefties still kick up a fuss about it but most normal people have moved on and forgot about it.

Personally i dont call the marches of 2003 shameless and small.

Frankly Saddam could have been caught red handed firing nuclear missiles at London and the hippies would STILL have gone on a stop the war march.

It's what they do.

Well it beats working... and washing. Right?

Is anyone clear as to whether the ONLY members of the crew of this yacht were the five named British sailors or not?

I got the impression from the news at 22:00 on TV last night that there were other people on board but can't find any mention of them elsewhere.

Pre-emptive nuclear strike is the only language they will understand.

from orbit....... its the only way to be sure

but if these people were in Iranian waters then at least the Iranian navy have got decent border control. its a shame our Navy aren't as vigilant over our own borders.

Not heard anything about that, but is it just me or did Iran miss a huge publicity coup here?

Surely they could have given this boat the once-over (if it was in their waters) and then provided an escort and/or assistance to get it or tow it to Bahrain, and publicise it all over the place?

Definitely missed a trick there!

It's stuff like this that makes me have zero tolerance for this country.
I hope they get what's coming to them.

our navy is as good, however the iranians will give our guys a prison cell and trial, if iranians were caught in british waters they would be given a free house and benefits, the be aloud to sue the navy for breaching their human right and probably get a huge payout..

We don't deserve to have nukes any more than anybody else. Our country is still capable of being led by complete morons who go to war against the will of the people

My mood I'm a Dinner jacket is spouting again.
Mr Ahmadinejad said warnings by Western powers that Iran would be isolated were "ridiculous".

"They need us more than we need them. It is psychological warfare and isolating Iran is impossible," he said.

"Any finger which is about to pull the trigger will be cut off."
