Sold item, buyer hasnt got it, online tracking shows otherwise

i have electronic proof of delivery

Have you mentioned this to him? Have you shown him that 'he' has signed for it, or at least pointed ou someone has? What does the printed name and signature show?

I had a recorded parcel popped through my letterbox last week. I checked the pod and it was my name but not my writing or signature. I was however incredibly grateful that my postie had done it for me as I needed the item that evening and was home late!

no but i dont think matters. if paypal decide in his favour and i have zero in my account my account will just go into minus i think

your in a tight spot if you didnt require the paypal i would just tell you to cancel the account etc etc but you do need it.

like the other guys say show him the proof of delivery and tell him that this dispute has nothing to do with you and that if he is pulling your leg to bog off

"HE" may not have signed for it. Don't reply and tell him to bugger off because he might be telling the truth.

Get in touch with the postal company and ask for the name and address of where it was delivered, I presume when delivered they had to sign to take the package from the delivery guy so find out what name is shown on it and double check that the address was actually to the address on the label.

I will give you an example, last week I ordered from Amazon, the tracking showed "delivered" yet I had not gotten anything, I email them and try to resolve the matter and I find out the package was left with the people next door, the guy next door said he did not sign anything and I did not have any note through the door.

There are many reasons for why something may not have gone as it should have so think twice before you jump into the whole "tell him to suck a lemon" keyboard warrior wagon otherwise you may find the buyer contacts paypal and you have the money given back to him.

if you used a real name and address on your paypal yes;)

You must have used your debit/credit card or bank details to get the money from your account, so yes, they do know who you are.

And as for people saying paypal ALWAYS side with the buyer, this is not true. As long as the guys paypal is verified and the item was shipped to that verified address and he has prrof of that (He does) Then paypal will 100% side with him.

But remember, not everyone on ebay are out to scam you, so help the guy to recover his parcel, find out the name of the person that signed for it, and ask him if they live in his block of flats.

If he signed for it and IS trying to scam you, ignore the scum because you have done everything you need to as far as paypal is concered

You must have used your debit/credit card or bank details to get the money from your account,
you can transfer to a bank account without adding it although i think the name field cant be altered from what it is on paypal.

when i use paypal i send money from one account to the other, if i ever get a scammer do a chargeback ill just close the 2nd account :P

its not even you the person does a charge back against its against paypal.

someone can add funds to paypal via a CC and then do a chargeback to recover the funds.

paypal find it easier to go after the people the guy bought things from than to try and take on visa

the parcel is at the apartment block's security department.

It shows on the electronic proof 'guys name, head of security, apartment block name'
