Any advice to quieten a Samsung F3 1Tb?

I think the TB1 is slightly noisey than the 500g ,thats why i have a f3 500g as my main drive with windows 7 on it ,its in a cage and can,t hear a thing !:)

That is the no 2 antivibration kit in my list, even if i got a German "copy" of it from Sharkoon :)

Unfortunately not available anywhere else than Czech Republic or Slovakia. It is basically a 2 steel plates used for fixing the thing onto 5,25" bay, then a U profile rubber part, one side of it is permanently fixed to the steel plate, the other side has screws for the HDD. You screw in the HDD and then mount in the case - there is no way for vibration to pass through that rubber.


Anwyay, to the OP, what kind of noise are you complaining about ? Vibration noise, seek noise, hum of platters rotating ?

@mikewebb: that can be also because your system is noisy... For example, what i consider to be a damn noisy computer is a dead silent for many.
