Why don't OCUK host a lan party?

It'd never get OcUK financial backing but I don't see why you can't host a self-funded one with people paying £30 or whatever?

I'm in if there is one next year would be great fun. I'm 37 btw so an old hack but I'm sure some former clan members would be up for it as well.

Depends when it's hosted.

I'd be afraid that people would find out what I look like in real life and realise that I squeal like a big girl when pounced by hunters.

It does sound like a good idea and could possibly be of benefit to the company as well (I certainly would be tempted to buy new components out of sheer jealousy of the others).

Even if OcUK were in no way inclined to do something like this there is no reason why the community as a whole couldn't organise something. There have been OcUK meets before, this would be no different other than people bringing their own PCs.

We've done this a lot in the console section, do a search for "west wales LAN" in the console section.

Maybe get a few people together in a party on MW2 if anyone is interested? I will PM my steam ID if anyone fancies it. 5/6 people would be preferable, and maybe tag up with OCUK, that would be great.

I've still got most of my network gear from the fragM events so we'd be mostly sorted on that front.

The worst part of the organisation was actually finding a decent, suitable venue! With the venue out of the way, I'd be easily convinced
