Are you way too casual with leaving your laptop/netbook unattended?

Once again I just left the thing on a pub table for five minutes while I buggered off to do something else. To be honest there are some pubs and bars I'd do this in, and others I certainly wouldn't. Anyone ever leave theirs unattended in a public place?
 
Never, my OCD needs kicks in before my security related worries do. Leaving something unattended and not properly packed away is just...wrong!
 
i have a habit of leaving my wallet and phone on tables in pubs, i slap myself each time i do it but keep repeating it. Very foolish in some pubs.

I once lost my mobile by leaving it in a pub off Oxford St, complete with some very graphic texts from a girl in their own folder. The phone was never handed in.
 
Yup. I leave my laptop unattended in the SU. I lock the screen/account, but that's all. Most other places I wouldn't, but if I'm leaving it for a couple of mins I'm not too fussed really, nothing important on there and it's not an expensive laptop.
 
i wouldnt leave my laptop unattended anywhere, except my studios in uni. Im more inclined to leave it there than my own uni house. I do lock the account anytime i go anywhere away from it, wouldnt want to risk an unwanted facebook rape :(
 
I've left my laptop on the computer in my department's library whilst I get a book from the shelf, but ther are usually people whom I know around.

I've never felt the need to take it to the pub with me, I have friends.
 
Nope, I try to be really careful with it as it's one of the most expensive things I own, if I can't be careful with my most expensive possessions then I'm not gonna get far! Besides, they're really easy to carry around, isn't much hassle to just grab it

I would never leave my laptop on display in a pub, I normally pack it away (or cover it) when going to the toilet on a train! However I would occasionally leave it on a table whilst I went off to hunt for some journals when in the uni library but be very paranoid... Having said that it's an expensive looking laptop (alhough not actually that expensive).
 
I'm not sad enough to bring my laptop to the pub, I go there to be social and have a few beers. Not browse the internet or get work done.
That said if I did I would have no problems leaving it at my local, I could leave a wad of cash on the table and no one would touch it, everyone knows everyone and they're all straight as a die.

I rarely bring it outside the house, when I do it depends where I leave it, in college i'll leave it in a classroom while I have a smoke break. In a coffee shop it won't leave my sight.
