Would you allow someone to die for 500k?

Why would you honestly care about someone you don't know dying, do you think it would be reciprocated?

Its as bad as robbing a bank and shooting into a group of people to make your escape, you don't mean to kill anyone in particular but you do to enable you to escape with the money, if you personally pull the trigger or just accept the money and some joe/joanne public dies its murder whatever way you look at it.

I saw that stupid button film at the weekend. The answer is no I would not allow someone to die for £500k, or any other amount of money for that matter.

Sadly the conclusion I have come to is that I will be in a minority.

I agree with you on both counts.

I'd do it and then see how many times i can get the guy to offer me the deal. I would do it 100 times.

The flu virus has better morals than you, at least it only spreads to reproduce and prevent its own destruction, no malice intended its only trying to live the best way it can.

Never.

To all the people that said yes, it could be someone you love. 500k wouldnt seem so great then.

People talk about sick people getting killed (paedos, etc.) and then justify murder for money.

It's a good point, people are saying they'd do it only if the recipient was evil, to me that stinks of irony, so murder isn't evil anymore? Very strange to say you'd do it to a paedo, is there really that much difference between a murderer and a peado? Especially a murderer who's doing it for purely selfish reasons, just makes it worse.

Agree with the people who say reading this thread is disappointing :(

Yes I would, but I would invest say 400k of it in a charity which provides water or something along those lines to poor countries and save many more lives. Also, that £100k I would use to make a business and 50% of the profits would go towards that charity. Am I evil?

Life is cheap, we only have respect for it cos we have everything, all the material things. Take them away you would be killing people for a meal.

Nope.

There is no difference between this and murder. When is murder ever justifiable?

If you gettin' PAIIIIIIIIID.

But no, you're right. The fact that people are willing to kill for cash is really sad and shows that we've almost sacrificed all values just to get money. I will never see money as being important enough to murder, there's very, very little that would lead me to murder and I'd never do it purely out of selfish gain

I'm sure you can answer that yourself, is murder evil or is it ok?

Never.

I remember posting about this on another forum after looking up upcoming films and having read the synopsis on imdb

No amount of money or posessions could change what I would have become if I pressed the button. As for the what ifs, that could go on forever, an endless arguement. So you give the money to charity and save lives only to find out you have killed a scientist who was about to make a big breakthrough and find the cure for cancer (or something equally world changing).

here here. :)

Is our entire civilisation not built on murdering each other to gain control of resources for our own gain.

Yeah good point but for every one of you with morals and a conscience there are a 100 that would push the button and couldn't care two hoots if you die.

Morals are great and I can't knock people with them but you soon learn that they don't actually change anything.

I would push the button in an instant and wouldn't think twice about it unless it was my daughter that died.

Someone with morals may well save your or someone you love's life one day. And they'd do it regardless of the fact that you're not a moral person. They'd do it because they believe in treating life the way you wish your own life to be treated. They would believe in standing for what is right, and not what gives you a quick boost at the expense of others.

Those people are effectively the people that hold this society up, that cause humanity from drowning in chaos and that uphold the values so many take for granted.

You may not care that you'd be killing someone, the daughter or son of someone else like yourself, perhaps the brother, sister or husband or wife of someone who is loved deerly. But the fact that there are others who would care is what keeps us a stable society, and the message that we give our children reflects how we want our society left when we ourselves are dead.

I'm shocked by the amount of people who say they would do it.

I don't think most of these these people are playing the forum "I don't give a crap" joker either.

It's quite scary. I'm glad my parents taught me good values.

Shame on you all.
