I watched it have to say it was good. It was a wow fest. The plot the acting were pretty awful. It had a hell of of a lot of cheese and cliches.
The CGI the visuals were very good though, I hate CGI for CGI's sake but the aliens Nabu whatever their called they were passable(maybe a bit more than that, I dont know if it was the 3D, but they did seem like real aliens, although I dont think any aliens would ever look like them), you forget about any flaws after a while, and the flaws are close to miniscule, even when its digital. The clarity is excellent, its like the textures of the clothes and their braded hairs, they look so real you can almost touch them.
The 3D wasnt like looking through a window though, its more like the red green taken to the nth level. Certain things have certain levels where they stick out from one another(some objects do go right back into the screen). And those objects pop out from their surroundings, its almost as if Sigourney Weaver was right in front of you(plus brief 3D boobies, not Sigourney's).
However there was no real quiet moments, no characterisation, everything had to be about the plot and moving it forward. The plot was a complete wishful thinking, preachy fanfiction(I dont know how many orgasms Cameron must have had coming up with it), with elements of Final Fantasy nonsense.
That action wasnt that great, if it wasnt in 3D it would be mediocre. I knew what was going to happen before it happened.
There's no way I can see it being worth to watch in 2D on a DVD. Yeah it was mostly trash but it made my eyes Esplode. I garuantee people will get tired of 3D if it continues like this, but first out of the door first wins(I know it wasnt the first 3D film but it was the first I saw, so it wins, unless something better comes along, which I doubt, because it'll only likely be used as a substitue for plot and things we used to have in films).
