Your plans for 2010?

I blame Toilet Duck.

Quack Quack.

Nothing wrong with a Passat, reliable, economical and does what is asked of it. It's not a fun car and it's not a street racer :/

Absolutely, the old passats are decent solid cars - comfy, practical and reliable.

Fun? Embarrasing people in road races? purleease. I've got a car with an equivalent engine to a PD130 passat and miles better handling - I'd never even dream of describing it as a fun car. Sure its possible to have fun in it on the right road, but its not a fun car.

Can we have a nomination for deluded poster of the year in the awards thread?

Fox, my post recently about the garage replacing my BMW Pro HU in my 1 series. They've offered me a direct replacement, or a £400 voucher for use in the shop they use.

Don't do it. Non OEM headunits not only look awful, they don't integrate well with the newer cars and on the 1 series you'll lose your PDC beeps too as they're generated by the radio.

I can assure you that your quite wrong,Late night supposedly "quiet" roads are lethal for a number of reasons. I see it all the time, late night accidents, nobody else involved...... Think about it.

Yup, nobody else involved, i wouldnt want to race someone and get some third party involved if I crashed would I.

Yes it is, but then you would know a fun car when you see one wouldnt you in your fiesta

Your mondeo pales in comparison to a passat, i know this as i drove both a tdci and a zetec S v6 before I bought the passat. Ford = Fail.

But the sound quality from a P88RS2 is MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH better than standard BMW gear.

Two options:

1:
Front end respray on ST, and full corrective detail.
Alloy refurb.
Fix all the rattles and replace cracked trim.
Basically make the Fiesta look like new again.

2:
Sell the Fiesta and get a Mondeo ST220 or BMW E46 3series. ;)

*Snigger*....mmkay then.

Your opinion would be at odds of pretty much every motoring journalist who's driven the cars. The Passat is a better car in a lot of ways - its better built, has a better interior and is more comfortable. But in handling terms, the Mondeo is the better car. Im not saying that because I own one - I own one because that's the fact.

Keep the Fez! :D

Probably the ONLY small car I actually like, very capable cars. Infact, probably the only Ford I like :p

i really want to keep the Fez but gain 6speed gearbox, cruise control etc...

the other option is to SC it to around 250bhp, however its a daily, and crusing @ 75mph with boost would kill my MPG :(

Well and truly option 2.

Hold up.

Are you saying that you bought a (in your own words) a poorer built, less comfortable car because it handled slightly better?

Why would Handling be an important factor in purchasing a second hand run of the mill 4 door saloon?

The Mondeo is nicer to drive than a Passat by a greater magnitude than its interior is poorer (I didnt think it really was THAT much poorer), if that makes sense. The Passat is just utterly bland in every way - the Mondeo at least entertains on the right road.

 Have you ever responded to a post and not completely missed the point?

Exactly what I was going to say. Plus the Mondeo represented better value for money, was more spacious, better equipped and better looking.

After 5 years with the Clio I think 2010 is the year of change.

Plan is to do something at the end of the year as a 30th present to myself, no idea what yet as the choice changes each week :)

Big range of choices as well, M3, Evo, Impreza, Focus, Golf, Megane, who knows :)

And yet you decided to defend your purchase by saying that the Mondeo handles better?
