Epic Food Poisoning - Is there anything I can do?

That makes no sense, if it was dodgy food surely you would all be ill?

i think what he originally meant was everyone in his home has had the same meals at home that he has, so it can't be the food at home. but my point was has anyone else from the restaurant got it, or is it just him, cuz then he can't really blame them either

I am sure i read somewhere that food poisoning doesn't act that quickly, if you don't instant vom it up (rotten/bad etc..) then its something like 24 hours before it kicks in? Unfortunately of course the last meal you had is what you end up tasting for a few days and that puts you off...

I can't eat anything with Oregano in any more due to an unfortunate incident of the happy crappers.

I went to a Chinese restaurant only to see them in the Metro the next day about them defrosting the duck on the washing line :(

Yea. My mother-in-law told me how she was in this Chinese restaurant and when going to the toilet, the prawns where in the sink next to the toilet defrosting (Bag half-way open and all)

She still takes us there sometimes for 'a meal out' but I usually don’t have anything :p

Seriously though. I think JBod has a good point. Food poisening usually shows up a day or two after consumption (note, I said usually). So a couple of hours after eating seems extremely unusually fast. If something tastes bad you chuck it up, but food poisoning takes much longer.
Just food for thought! :D

Two weeks? Blimey is that then still food poisoning?
yep that's food poisoning

Food poisoning is evil, over a week of liquid coming out both ends and over two weeks before you feel right. Only had it once and never want to experience it again.

"Yep that's food poisoning" You a doctor? You giving a forum diagnosis now?
Food poisoning doesn't kick in an hour or two after eating and it doesn't disappear after a couple of hearty *****.
Maybe the OP has made a mistake, maybe he had a virus that he's attributing to the local Chinese.
Just live with it man, if it's a bad place to eat it will get caught out or people will just stop eating there. If not, you are slandering them.

It only took me at least 8 hours for me to get food poisoning once. Most terrifyingly painful experience yet. :( Took a week to feel normal again... Even then it was still touch and go.

I'm just recovering from a bout 10 days ago. I think it was from the work canteen of all places. Three of us on the floor had the same lunch on a Friday and were all ill over the weekend and off the following Monday with similar symptoms. Catering supervisor didn't take it well when I sent an enquiry email...

Suffice to say the canteen is significantly less busy than it was previously.

I wonder if Environmental health would prosecute themselves?

The Bacteria that causes food poisoning can have an incubation period of between 1 hour and 90 days, The OP also didnt say he recovered in 2 hours after going to the toilet either.

Potentially!
The vast majority of food poisoning cases happen after 90 days you think?
By the same token the vast majority don't happen after 1 hour either.
And please tell me where I suggested he was better 2 hours after a stool?
I'm still not understanding your point unless you are playing devil's advocate.

giant cork and a mallet

This.

Call imigration. :p

Mock their new year in February. ;)

I had pretty nasty wind (holding stomach, curling over) after eating home made shephards pie. I was the only one out of five that contracted said wind. Bizarre. Should I have called a no-win no-fee doodah on my dad?

I dont think the majority of food poisoning cases happen after 90days or after 1hour, I didnt imply that either, I just stated that it can happen between 1hour and 90days, I suspect that the majority happen around 2 to 3 days.

The quote of yours states that it cant be food poisoning because food poisoning doesnt happen after a couple of hours and it implies he got better after going to the loo which he didnt actually say.

I am certain that it is the meal that caused it. Without wanting to be too crude, I did go for one last night before everything went seriously wrong and it was business as usual. Just two hours later it wasn't really the same story.

My point being that food poisoning can be sudden onset quite as easily as not, and cant be ruled out because the symptoms show after a relatively short or long period of time. You berated Acid2Hell for making a diagnosis and then continued to give your own.

Maybe it's an allergic reaction he just developed?

Friend of mine had fish one time and instantly got sick like this for some days. Went to the doctor and found out he was allergic to it :D
