The do I or don't I, go to work thread

Amazes me how England falls apart so much in the snow, we have a good 2" of ice on roads and pavements as they are only gritting trunk roads due to a shortage of grit yet every single person in the office made it in today despite another dump of snow last night on top of the ice.

If you don't have a car you're a bit stuffed surely? Depending on where exactly in Scotland, that is...

I'll not be going in tomorrow if it's white in the morning and it's my first day back after Christmas. My company decided to put me at an office 16 miles away instead of one 3 miles away, thats their fault. Plus any legitimate excuse not to do my crappy job is fine by me!

Will be setting out at 7:00 tommorrow, 90 mins to get just under 10 miles through non-gritted Stoke roads.

If I get to OcUK early and can see the roads are good, McDonalds breakfast, if I get there just on time I am still on time.

Anyone who did not even make an attempt to get into work when they could have possibly needs to make alternative arrangements for tommorrow. :)

I live less than a mile from my workplace. There's one other guy in the same town. If it's too snowy in the morning, it might be just me and him whilst everyone else is out enjoying the snow.

I hate my company. :( *grumble whinge grumble*

Made it in, roads aren't too bad, probably better before everyone else comes out to play.

Astra drove really well in the snow.

It has snowed heavily here today, I am lucky and can walk to work and my car is also very easy to drive in the snow like this, but there are some right plonkers about trying to get to work in cars that really cant do it. Please dont risk damaging yourselves or others, the UK is not used to these kind of conditions and if you are like many and not fortunate enough to have a car suited to the conditions and the roads are as bad as they are here near you, call in, there is no shame in being snowed in and im sure any higher up's will be perfectly understandable if you are being honest about your situation.

At the same time, dont try and get the day off just because you think you can, the Boss will be able to tell, trust me ;)
