I don't have it on steam. I think its on the HL2 disc and I have no idea where that disc is or if I even own it anymore. Its been about 5 years since I've seen it.

You've never bought a game on steam even though you own the game on a disc? Cheap older games that is.

You've never bought a game on steam even though you own the game on a disc? Cheap older games that is.

The point people are making is that if you have the game then you have it on steam. If you have ever played it, it is from that point onwards your game on steam to delete and redownload as often as you like.

its a steam only game, if you have it on disc, you have it on steam if you've ever installed it

Then you're doing it wrong.

I bought HL2 and therefore CSS on disk, and they added to my steam fine.

Only ever had 1 account. I don't see CS:S anywhere on my list of games. Infact, I don't even remember playing CS:S. I only ever played the original countrstrike.

i cant say what i want to so i shall say you have issues. Also i have that same Hl2 disk with css on it and i have it on steam.

I can't believe there is so much hate towards me in this thread.

I don't have the game on my steam list. Its just not there. The only way I can get cs:s is to buy it or have someone gift it to me.

If the OP wants to gift it to me, then thats his decision and no one else's business. He can do what ever he wants with his gift.

Hate is the wrong word, I think people just can't believe that you would rather take a game from someone who doesn't own it rather than fix the issue with your game.

You've tried installing it right?

I don't have the disc and the game isn't on my steam list. Did CS:S come on the HL2 retail disc back in 2004? Because if it did, I sold that pc game last year in the MM. I think I have it on another valve disc somewhere in my loft but I'm not sure. What other games had CS:S packed in with it?

Owning HL2 allowed you get CSS yes. I believe HL2 came out before (by a few months or something) CSS. So owning HL2 gave you access to it in the future.

Hmmm, I'm not sure. On wiki it shows http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Orange_Box

A list of games, but CSS isn't mentioned. It could be seperate for the orange box. I know my retail HL2 allowed me to download CSS, but that was literally *JUST* HL2, back when it was released!
