Shepard's Fate

In Mass Effect 2, it is possible for Commander Shepard and members of his team to die at the conclusion of the game's final mission. Throughout the middle of the game the player will be building up the team, resources, information and ship necessary to succeed in the final mission. Should the player enter the final mission unprepared they could end up with an ending where Shepard dies, members of his team die, or there is a total bloodbath where everyone dies.

Should the player's Shepard die they will be unable to continue playing the game after the credits, and will be unable to import their character into Mass Effect 3. As with Shepard, death is final for all characters, and any that die during the ending will not be appearing in Mass Effect 3.[1]

"Because is a big, stupid Jellyfish" :D

Its almost as good as when he punches that female reporter.

lol i remember that interview
i was playing the good guy so i picked "storm out" or something

wanted to replay it as a renegade but to many good games out at that time so only had time for one play through

I quite like that idea. Especially if there were to be some form of fallout from the death/s in ME3. It would be interesting to see how they'd handle the creation of a completely new protagonist who would be in canon with the story whilst still allowing players who kept Shepard to keep the same pace.

I've been missing permanent death since the good old days of RPGs. Reloading Baldur's Gate whenever a party NPC got crit into oblivion...thems was the days!

Yeah, I don't see why the rolleyes is warranted myself. It's not like it's going to stop you playing ME3, just makes things more interesting. It'll certainly make you think hard about your choices as you play through ME2, rather than just following the signposts until you get to the end of the game.

Forgot this was out fairly soon. Just started playing through Torchlight (brilliant btw), but i wanted to reply Mass Effect before 2 was out, guess i'll have to but Torchlight on hold.

Thanks for putting that info on saved games data to be carried over Matmulder ;)

Standard and Digital Deluxe now up on Steam :D
No price listed though, but hey, atleast its finaly there.

 Suddenly pops up on steam. Hmm I've already got a CE preordered, dunno whether to cancel that and buy on steam. A physical box would be nice, but I'm getting into the habit of only using steam for games.

I hope to god they won't do a repeat of the Dragon Age DDE. ****ing pre-order offers depending where you order from and screwing over UK customers with every release.

Still, 26th seems awfully close to have no price yet... bit fishy imo.

Sniper rifles are pointless.

Since when? Sniper Rifles own when you need accuracy. Pistols are deadly when you get the skill for it though (forgot its name now).

Biotic powers are overpowered, Tech side is pretty useless in comparison.

That i agree with. Deactivate an enemies gun for a bit or pick them all up in the air and use them as a pinata. No contest. The sheer number of Biotics Powers than render large groups of enemies helpless is OTT, especially when you got bonus' to cooldown from the achievements and the 2nd specialisation.

High level pistols with master marksman is extremely powerful.

Sniper rifles with high explosive rounds can be fun (invest in some frictionless materials).

Don't worry about collecting every piece of equipment you find, stuff is very abundant on the whole.

Even though people say certain classes are bad/good, they can all be powerful in different ways, and just require different styles of play. If you like to charge in and gun/melee =>soldier; sit back and snipe / hack lockers => infiltrator etc...

If you're the type to be obsessed with efficient levelling and make every skill point count, check out some guides about free charm/intimidate points. Personally with the amount of thinking to do in real life, I would rather not have to play a game as if it were some sort of test/project.

Unlock weapon/ability acheivements allows you to use them as bonus talents for classes which may not have the ability by default. Like giving an adept an assault rifle (pretty deadly).

Above all, sit back and enjoy the story, character interactions and cutscenes. :)

Sniper rifles are pointless. Pistols are better than you think, Assault is the all-rounder.

Biotic powers are overpowered, Tech side is pretty useless in comparison.

?
I went through most of the game using my sniper rifle, they're great

I'm still plugging my way through it again, I really wish I kept the saves from my first shot. For what it's worth I'll be getting to level 60 before ME2.

About the collector's edition, I think the UK is going to get the poo end of the stick again, sadly. So I'll just cancel and get the normal one, you get the cerberus network card with all new copies, much like the stone prisoner, and the comic is on sale in the comic shops, and I dare say the local indie comic place could use the business. I can live without an art book and "making of" dvd.

tried playing through again trying to get to level 60, im level 59 with like 10,000 more xp. im at the end where you fight saren..cannot be bothered to start again really
