Audi R8 going cheap!

re

I don't see the problem, it's not pretending to be something it isn't, the numberplate even says TT on it...
Are you serious? You did see the first two characters on the numberplate too, right?

And you still think it's not pretending to be anything?

I think you'd have to be delusional if you think he's honestly trying to pass that off as replica/fake R8.

Do you not think if he was trying to hide the fact it was a TT he'd have just got a plate that said R8 WOW or something? It's clearly inspired by the R8 and it's a TT, hence R8 TTG. I'm sure you could have figured it out for yourself if you had really tried.

About what?

I can understand some people might not like it (which is fine, we all have different tastes) but I still think all the 'I can tell its fake' comments are missing the point - it's not meant to be a fake R8 in the first place.

No mate, its you missing the point here, no its not meant to be a fake R8, its supposed to be a TT except now it just looks like it wants to be an R8 (regardless if that was the owners intention or not) and, to the majority of car enthusiasts, it looks absurdly laughable.

Anyway, each to his / her own, if it floats your boat, good for you.

I disagree, if that was all people thought then there wouldn't be comments like 'I can tell it's not an R8' and 'I can tell it's fake'. It's not trying to be a fake R8, so those comments have missed the point.

To be honest, to me, it looks 20x more like a TT than it does an R8, all it has done is added some similar features, something many many manufacturers do as standard across their range of cars anyway to create a uniform feel to their cars.Very clearly inspired by the R8? Yes, definitely. Pretending to actually be an R8? Not at all

In fact i'm somewhat surprised the TT didn't look more like the R8 as standard.

it's not meant to be a fake R8 in the first place.

Challenge: beat the logic.

Car - Audi TT
Is Audi TT
Modification - Copy Audi R8 features
Definition of fake "make a copy of with the intent to deceive"
TT has R8 cosmetic features
ergo TT is fake R8

Yep that's exactly what I do when I read your posts. Just for a laugh, I'd like to hear your explanation of why it has an R8 reg plate if it isn't in any way an imitation R8? :D

Because it has a bodykit inspired by the R8. Tell me, if he was so obviously attempting to fool people into believing it was a real R8, why would he get a plate that also said TT on it, thus making R8 TT? Do you not think he would have got something else, such as R8 WOW?

...oh wait no, failure, because it looks so absolutely nothing like an actual R8 still, so is clearly not intended to decieve

I'm still honestly shocked people think that car is an attempt to fool people into thinking it's a real R8.

Covering a BMW 318i in every M3 part possible with M3 badges all over it - fake M3
Changing every body panel on an MR2 to look like a Ferrari - fake Ferrari
Changing a few parts on a TT for bits styled vaguely like an R8 - not a fake R8
