Agree about the chav magney thing, was off putting taking them out, was always worried about getting them nicked as very expensive toys to lose, not hundreds neither, anyone who races will tell you a decent race spec 1/8 buggy is a least a grand plus.
Easily. Got a new race roller (just the car) will put you back about £400 quid, same again for a good engine and pipe, same again for a good radio system, starting equipment is about £70, then you need a variety of wheel and tyre combos and spares
