Easily. Got a new race roller (just the car) will put you back about £400 quid, same again for a good engine and pipe, same again for a good radio system, starting equipment is about £70, then you need a variety of wheel and tyre combos and spares

When I was a kid i spent faaaaar too much on RC cars... madness looking back..

Was great fun mind.. going back 15 years, but i had a dogmaster when it was just out
 
i got a vintage traxxas Nitro Buggy. quiet slow and will NOT start in this weather... Such a shame cos i wanted to run it in the snow. Maybe i need a colder plug?

Try warming it up (hairdryer is fine) before taking it out, put a drop of fuel down the carb and make sure your glow plug starter is fully charged and it should be good to go.

you have to tune them depending on the weather.

if you tune one in summer dont expect it to work with those settings very well when it gets cold
 
Sold my EB4-S2 a few years back, now only RC I have is a brushless electric heli. Brushless electrics now offer phenomenal torque from standstill, way more than even the best nitros. lipo+brushless seem to be the best overall compromise at the moment, but the battery technology still needs to improve.

I used to go to there sometimes but mostly i was with the Cromer R/C club - i found there was a better/more friendly atmosphere there !

I used to race a schumacher something or other with loads of carbon fibre bits !! used to cost me a fortune (averaged at £50 a week when i worked out how much i was spending on it before giving up :o ) Amy is 9 now so i gave up around that time so i am well out of the loop !!

I couldn't start mine at all a few months back, and the last time I used it before that it ran really badly and kept cutting out at idle. A new bottle of fuel and it starts first pull and idles perfectly. Once glow fuel gets a bit old it's useless.

Yup, was playing with my mums hair dryer for ages didnt work.

Bit hard to tune when its only starting 1 out of 50 tries lol. When it did start i had to keep the glow starter on or it would die and any amount of throttle would also cause it to conk out. Went back to base settings (rich) as apparently its suppose to be richer in winter. Didnt make any difference (other than flooding more often).

This is something that worries me. I may have brought far too much fuel, however i have one big bottle that i decant into a smaller bottle, before even putting into my refueling bottle. The bigger bottle hasn't even been opened since summer, but the smaller + refueling bottle are open all the time, so maybe there off. Who knows.
 
It may be the fuel, I'd try getting a small botle, just to see if it works better with fresh fuel.

What you've put (quoted below) suggests to me that the car was running too rich to start with, and by richening it further, you've made the problem worse.

Try leaning it off 1/4 of a turn and see if this helps, failing that my course of action would be as follows ;

1)Acquire new fuel
2)Replace Glow Plug
3)Double check what the factory defaults should be
4)Get it started lean the fuel mixture in accordance with the manual

Have you tested the glow plug take it out and check.
fuel lasts for ages if stored in cool dark place
reckon reason it aint starting is your flooding it.
dont run it too rich or you got no chance.
As for the plug RB no6 is a good starting point for winter.
 
That looks almost too torquey... a bit uncontrollable!

I remember the old Thunder Tiger EK4S, that had a .70 massive engine in it and wheelied at will, but it wasn't as torquey as that!

I used to have a Predator P8 and all I can say is that it is a great idea badly executed - the diff spurs always used to go, no BBs in the steering and if you landed a jump wrong the chassis used to snap. Not a patch on my B3. Also noticed Graham North mentioned in the review - brings back memories, I used to race alongside him at the North East Regionals!
 
I have a HPI Nitro Firestorm or MT I'm not sure which. Had it about 6-7 years now and I want to get it out again to play with....


It wont start, could I take it to a local store to get it in working order again? I didn't build it so Im abit scared to take it apart. Should I just get a new one and save the hassle?
