Official Catalyst 9.12

9.12 gave me errors with ArmA 2, would'nt launch :( Using a 4870 so rolled back to 9.10 and working fine, be nice to have the latest drivers though!

9.12 hotfix gave me some dodgy 2nd card issues, 1st card worked fine, but 2nd card shows up as Core 000Mhz and Mem 000Mhz, but checking in afterburner it was something like 300MHz Core / 800MHz mem, would not go into 2d 157/300 mode for the 2nd card

installing the 9.12 normal drivers fixed this issue for me!

Had a golden moment yesterday when I realise that 9.12s weren't actually crossfiring my cards - enabled Catalyst AI and boom, double FPS.

Ho ho ho, stupid drivers x]

Are you sure about that?

CAT A.I has to be enabled for Crossfiring & the default is enabled at all times including when using a single gpu & i have yet to ever have an install that disabled CAT A.I by its self.

My pc just black screens on start up with the 9.12's went back to 9.10's

Oh man this could be the root of my problem.

I was running 9.09 or maybe 9.10 and I was having DX problems after I downloaded an old game from Steam. Later when I tried to play L4D2 / BF2 the games would not boot up. ATI VPU recover kept kicking in and resetting everything.

I checked the latest DX which was fine then downloaded 9.12. I was a little frustrated so just installed it over the older version. Still no joy so booting up the games thought just fresh renstall it. Uninstalled CCC then all the other crap and went to reboot into safe mode to use DriverCleaner to make sure all gone and BOOM. Black screen. No BIOS coming up no nothing. Keyboard light coming on so I assume it is booting up fine underneath.

Card is 2900Xt and the red light is popping on when I turn it on.

Am posting this from my old rig I dug out of the cupboard thank god it works.

Can anyone shed any light as I cannot even begin to try and fix this as I have no signal going to my screen. :(

Yeah, weird ain't it? I'm guessing that CCC stored some setting somewhere from when I had a single card (had AI off then) and the 9.12s picked up on it?

So it was not the stupid drivers fault then as you set the A.I to Disabled when you had a single GPU.
THE default for A.I is enabled Standard for Single or Multi GPU & no not weird as CCC has been doing the remember settings to save people time & hassle of setting them all again when people upgrade the drivers for a long time.

There was no abusive or angry tone to my reply, why would you think there was.
I was explaining the errors of your ways as you still didn't seem to get it the first time.

Don't forget you said stupid drivers as well.

has anyone else here had the same problem where video playback quality is extremely poor?
there are other people having the exact same problems yet with HD 4xxx series. Video overlay is choppy and pixelated and even the video itself it pixelated, has a lot of more patterns and looks like its running in some kind of interlaced mode. i have tried all AVIVO settings and nothing has changed. I have recently upgraded my win7 to the 7600 build, and one of the first things i did was install k-lite mega codec pack 166, then latest version of divx. I have tried uninstalling both, and trying one without the other. playback is no different in wmp, vlc, divx, or powerdvd 7

Tried rolling back to 9.11 or summin?

no, as i have searched up this problem and people have reverted back to 9.10 even with nothing. also someone tested with 4890, 5770, 5850 and none of them works. Is it possible it is ati's avivo and how it decodes the video? if so is there anyway i can disable that, as i wouldnt mind the cpu doing it itself, aslong as i can watch movies

Anyone know of an issue with Dirt 2 and 5870 where vsync is concerned?

I get 54avg / 42min on the benchmark all maxed dx11/ultra at 19x12, perfectly playable with vsync off but when I try and put vsync on it's completely awful - extremely sluggish and bogs down everywhere, not sure if it's 'micro stutter' as I've heard people on here talk about, but it's awful.

Just wondering if it's a common thing, as I've had it with both 9.11 and 9.12...
