PC Games for girls?!

It's good to see parents passing on their wisdom to the next generation....
"don't shoot him in the leg, shoot him in the head."
"Make sure they're dead"

My girlfriend and I have been playing WoW together for a few years now.

Her other games include The Sims, Rollercoaster Tycoon, Zoo Tycoon and Red Alert.

As others have said, popcap offer some fun little games. Point & click games are always fun too like csi, monkey island, broken sword, sherlock holmes, sam & max too maybe?

What about something like ...
Anno?
Lego batman?
Prototype?
Spore?

Pop cap games point and click adventures
and quite a few girls/women I know are playing Dragon Age as well as stuff like Sacred 2

I got my friend Peggle as a Steam gift and she was addicted to it for ages (as I expected, since my Sister was aswell). Now she regulary downloads the demos for the indie games...never buys the full ones as her attention span for them is pretty bad and moves on quickly. I can tell you now though she also loves to play Gears of War in co-op...even though I think its kinda meh, I'll happily play it with her since its the only one she seems to like...its available for the PC but we play it on the 360.

Others that spring to mind from a few of my other friends is tbh what has already been mentioned...rollercoaster tycoon and the sims.

I know this is like...a PC gaming forum but you should look no further than the Nintendo Wii for your more female friendly gaming.

P.S
We let my sister loose on DOOM III before, she had a rather large minigun and when something scary run at her she panicked, got the flashlight out and started bashing this scary thing with it. Then she died (obviously) at this point and never played it again, but it was a good moment.

She's also played TF2, she admits to liking it and its easy to get into. She first went as a pyro, which if I am honest is the easiest class to use but she said she likes burning people...in which case me and her fiance smiled at her in a rather confused way. So at any rate TF2 seems to be the only online game she'll touch.

Most casual games you will find on steam are liked, at least by my girlfriend. She has an unhealthy obsession with beautiful katamari along with peggle and plants vs zombies. Also, you can't really go wrong with the tycoon games that are knocking around like Zoo Tycoon and RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 :D

Can't believe nobody else has posted this yet, but what bout Call of Duty Women's Edition:

Give your gf the internet, a browser and your credit card.
Totally appealing to women - I bet you will never get to play on your PC again.

Games that can be modded tend to appeal women

Take Oblivion for example if you look at the modding community there - you'll find that the majority of the well known and respected modders are female

Everything.

I mean, do men just play one type of game? Why not provide several types of games (2 or 3 of the same type) and see what she likes?

One of my friend loves racing games, she owns a wii and loves mario kart and plays wipeout on the PS3 a *LOT*. I play wow (I am a guy), and several of my good friends there are females and love the game as DPS. healers and tanks. I also know a few women from back in the day (mother and daughter!) who were top of the server score boards on Counter Strike. (DIdn't know them personally, just from the game).
