Oversized iPod with between 16 to 64GB memory - Bags not... Why does Apple insist on dumbing down everything?

I was more disappointed with the cpu.

How are you going to hog that around? Too small for a rucksack type bag, too large for pockets. I cant imagine seeing people walking around with them. You definitely couldn't use it while walking.

15" laptops aren't portable. I'm not sure what point you were trying to make.

Netbooks are 9-11" devices. The ipad is ~10".

I really can't see ebooks becoming that popular. I hate reading mass amounts of text off a screen.

So far Apples "inventions" are:

A Newspaper reader (I mean newpaper website)
The red button for TV so you can see extra things when watching sports programs.
Games with poor controls
Books with only a 10 hour battery life.

Yeah - Apple have been decidely unambitious about this one. The thing I'd be concerned about is that the iPhone fulfilled both a need and a fashion want - what possible broad need/want is this going to cover that the iPhone (and every other modern smart phone) doesn't already? It's nowhere near as portable and as you say, underpowered - yippie, same power as a Nexus One/ Moto Milestone but you can't stick it in your pocket???

EDIT - and a non ******* removable battery - my god will they never learn???
