***Mass Effect 2***SPOILER THREAD***

My renegade level was <15% and I still had the option to kill either of them, my paragon was 100%.

Odd really, but still, I don't see why anyone would kill Samara instead of Morinth.

According to...something I read not sure where, if you get Morinth you can sleep with her and it ends in a game over.

While i like the game i was a little disappointed with the story, i was kinda hoping they would develop the reaper story a lot more than they did.

And has any one played star flight on the mega drive? the scanning, mining and music reminded me of this game so much :D

Why did Mordan die?

I had 100% Paragon and about 24% renegade

I had everyone in trust

I chose Legion as the hacker = OK
I chose Zaeed as the bodyguard = OK
I chose Miranda as the other team = OK
I chose Jack as the Shield = OK
I chose Miranda to lead distraction = OK (Maybe this was incorrect)

Then when I was escaping Joker said everyone reported back okay, but at the same time is showed Mordan dead and then a coffin.

Why did that happen? I had run out of conversation options with Mordan

The only thing I can think of was I didnt upgrade the Scanner or Probes on the ship (MX518), but they arent his suggestions anyway.

I dont get that at all....Any ideas?

Yes all the prototype upgrades were done,

Hadnt finished all the weapon or armour upgrades, but I only ever really used to Assault Rifle as it is clearly superior

Did anyone else find the sniper to be pointless. The only spot I found a real use for it was the Reapers eyes.
The levels are to enclosed and their is always fire coming your way, so I just didnt see any need

Vent- Legion (first time tried with tali but for some reason she died - she was upgraded and loyal)
Second Squad- Garrus
Shield- Jack
Escort- Saeed
Distraction- Every one else except for Miranda and Samara, who i use most of time as squad members

i was able to have sex with Jack* and Tali (wanted to see her face and ofc didn't - what a joke) or Jack and Miranda, wasn't able to get secretary or samara

* this was before I did loyalty mission if i remember correctly.

overall not sure I think I like this game as much as first one; although side missions were an improvement, but I didn't like the rpg aspects (ie not many interesting options for abilities - instead of improving it they just dumbed it down) and hated no inventory/items management - basically stuck with one crappy set of armour (i had blood dragon and terminus armour as well - but those are special items not in reg game) and weapons upgrade pretty lame!!

yes completely useless - was useless in first game also, I was sniper class in first game and never used it was on pitols all the time - this time i went for assault class and used assault rifle, avenger was crap but next ones are ok. best was the one picked up from collector ship. not sure i liked any other weapon tbh - when i needed heavy i seemd to fall back on particle beam one, but didnt use it much tbh, only on occasional boss - ps i played the game in hardcore, since insanity was a bit too tough in some spots

Completely agree. All i wanted was a different storyline and for the exploration planets to have more content (i had no problems with the Mako), but they kind of revamped the whole game. Casey Hudson stated he wanted it to feel like an FPS, he kind of made it too much of an FPS, still a good game though.

As with all the others, just Mordan died for me :S

Vent- Legion
Second Squad- Garrus
Shield- Samara
Escort- Saeed
Distraction- Every one other than Samara and Grunt.

The nuke gun is good for the last level with the two biotic husk things
It nailed them in one hit, which was pretty impressive.

I only used the other heavy's on the Geth marauder and that floating thing.

Shotgun for close, Pistol as backup and Assault as primary is by far and away the superior combination.

Just a thought, but why were their Geth husks on the final ship when it was supposed to be the other race (forget their name)

Nobody knows where the technology comes from for creating husks they suspect the geth at first but then when you do the first mission where you fight the collectors(protheans) for cerburus (Horizon I think) you run into them for the first time and a conversation starts up in your team wondering weather the Husks are reaper technology rather than geth.

Well i've still got a crapload to do in the game, I have a whole pile of side and main quests to do, so I'm no where near finished, however I was desperate to see what happens next, so I did Assassin dood and Garrus’s loyalty quests last night, mined a load of elements, upgraded everything I could afford, saved my game (so I could go back to it and finish it all off later), and went through the relay…

Huge Terminator Reaper :D Soon as it said there was a big central chamber and that they were melting down humans I was like… SOOOO going to be building a Reaper, at first I thought they might be rebuilding Sovereign, but then I saw the Human Reaper, very cool :D

Also interesting that the ‘Harbinger’ is actually a Reaper, inside a Collector General, inside a Drone… and when the base is gonna blow it returns to its Reaper body, very interesting.

So I sent Tali in the vents, Garrus as squad leader, Jacob to help the crew back, Samara for the shield, and Garrus for the Distraction team.

Worked a treat, only lost Jack (which I couldn’t give two hoots about, as she's my least fave character, and I had skipped her loyalty quest anyway so not a big surprise).

I decided to keep the base, so blasted it with radiation.

And, whoa, how many Reapers on the way! Can't wait to see how they are gonna stop that lot! Roll on ME3!

Though, I have to say while ME2 has much improved many things (graphics, combat, level design, inventory etc), I still prefer the storyline of the first game, and I would have to say the ending to ME is even more epic than ME2’s.

ME2 was severely lacking a 'big bad', the collectors just weren't in it enough or had enough interaction with Shepard to be classed as anything other than a 'pesky annoyance'. The game seriously needed a 'Saren' character. The ME2 storyline defiantly suffered from 'middle of a trilogy' syndrome, there was lots of stuff happening, just non of it really moved the plot-line along, it was all just preparation, hardly any 'reveal' at all.

Also I was VERY disappointed at the lack of double-crossing. From the start when EDI said she had locked data banks to be used a 'specific time', and the fact that Cerberus rebuilt your body and could have implanted any number of control/explosive whatever devices into your cybernetics, plus the Illusive Man is forever setting people up, I was 100% certain at some point the poo was going to hit the fan and he was going to take control of the ship, or force you to do something, but then nothing happened... missed opportunity there methinks.

I am by no means done with the game, or unhappy with it, its an excellent game, I just feel it could have been much more, had they fleshed out the Collectors a bit more to make them into a proper enemy you wanted to be victorious over. Not to mention the serious lack of anything to do with the Council or the repercussions of Saren/Sovereign's attack other than the Citadel having a bit of a repair work done.

Anywho, I'll be going back to my old save to finish all the stuff i've not done yet so I can have my 'cannon' save ready for ME3.

There's still the third game. I doubt the Illusive Man has finished with Shepard yet.

People are expecting too much story-wise, the second part of a trilogy will never be as good as the first (too much 'setting up' for the 3rd too) Still, I think it has one of the best opening sequences since the original half life.

Did anyone else send Legion away for testing? (instead of having an extra team member) Cerberus having Geth and Collector tech... watch out Reapers!

Agree. You want the non-reaperfied Geth on your side so you can use their non-reaper based tech.

Agreed.

Also, what was everyones take on the rogue Geth?
Personally, I destroyed them, as I would imagine the same combination of parts would come to the same conclusion if just wiped like they were suggesting.

I wiped mainly because their motivations for destroying all organic life was caused by the reaper Virus, after the wipe the Virus is gone as is their memory and so they can be rehabilitated into the kinder gentler geth they should have been.
