***Mass Effect 2***SPOILER THREAD***

Isn't the Illusive man a reaper/being controlled by a reaper? Saran's eyes started to look like that in the end of Mass Effect 1 - the blue cyborg effect around the iris.

That was the reason I did everything the opposite of how he wanted during the game not because he was behind the Cerberus organisation.

I just took it as he was blind and they are occular implants so he can see again.

No he isnt a reaper else he wouldnt help destroy a reaper and he wouldnt have rebuilt Shepard to help stop the 'reaper menance' and infact would have done the opposite.

Why would a reaper want to stop the reapers and acquire reaper technology?

Did anyone else get to drive the mako? I noticed the controls for driving in the options, but never got to drive? :p

I wiped mainly because their motivations for destroying all organic life was caused by the reaper Virus, after the wipe the Virus is gone as is their memory and so they can be rehabilitated into the kinder gentler geth they should have been.

I played the entire game (my first run) with the idea of making allies and keeping people alive for ME3

So I befriended the Geth and kept them
I tried to save the Quarians from attacking the Geth
I didnt kill unnecessarily
I have the united Krogans
I have the Reaper tech, but warned martin sheen
I am trying to keep everyone alive

I imagine the ME3 Final will have several endings of differing degree, so I aim to have the polar good one completed then work my way through

Out of interest did anyone have Legion and take him to the Quarian fleet?

yes completely useless - was useless in first game also, I was sniper class in first game and never used it was on pistols all the time - this time i went for assault class and used assault rifle, avenger was crap but next ones are ok. best was the one picked up from collector ship. not sure i liked any other weapon tbh - when i needed heavy i seemd to fall back on particle beam one, but didnt use it much tbh, only on occasional boss - ps i played the game in hardcore, since insanity was a bit too tough in some spots

 The sniper rifle is one of my most fav weapons, I used it all the time in ME1
I picked up the sniper from the collector ship and it's awesome, it one hit kills most things, even with full shields, it'll take down a 'possessed' collector without any fuss, I wouldnt want to be without it

I have gone along similar lines, but for different reasons (as my character is totally neutral-evil).

Shepard said:

"Sure i'm doing it for the good of the Galaxy..."

My plan is for Shepard to achieve Galactic Domination. :D

I am trying to work it so by ME3 I have uber tech, and massive armies at my disposal to kick the living crap out of the Reapers without having to team up with the annoying as hell Galactic *spit* Council.

So far I have an army of Rachnii that owe me big time (as I saved the Queen in ME1, and the Asari on Illium delivered me the message that the Rachnii are rebuilding nicely and will be at my side when needed)

I’ve saved the cure data for the Krogans, so I’m hoping to use that in ME3 and have a massive horde of Krogan at my side (as I saved Wrex in ME1, who is now king of the Krogans, and I have the cure to the Genophage, they are sooo on my side).

Then I’ve helped Legion stop the 'Heretic' Geth, so all the ‘Good’ Geth now owe me, and want to stop the Reapers, so they are in with me.

I’m using the crap out of Cerberus resources and the Illusive man to get me what I want, and so I saved the Collector base to study Reaper tech and gain advanced weapons and knowledge of my enemy.

So when ME3 comes I will have 3 entire races, an organisation with apparently limitless funds, and a ****load of uber tech at my disposal. Bring it on!

Did anyone else find the sniper to be pointless. The only spot I found a real use for it was the Reapers eyes.

On Insanity the sniper is the most useful weapon in the game, especially if you take the specialization on the collector ship when you are already able to use snipers (i.e Soldier/Infiltrator) because it unlocks Legions Widow Anti-matter sniper for you to use which is the best weapon in the game when fully upgraded and with the +50% bonus for headshots it is lethal. Headshots are also really simple to do when paired with an infiltrators cloak.

The geth split up for example, there could be a rogue reaper. Something went wrong in it's take over of the human the Illusive Man used to be. Maybe the main reaper collective cut off it's return to it's main body/ship. Now it's using Cerberus for it's revenge. This is sci-fi after all, stranger things have happened.

The geth split because of the reapers Virus and so your first arguement is wrong. The illusive man is looking out for Human interests and thats all he's doing. Why the hell would he want to hold onto the reaper tech if he was a reaper he'd already know everything there is to know about that tech. Finally there are no indications that he is, was, or ever will be connected to the reapers!

Cerberus hates any species besides humans, therefore, Cerberus would do anything in it's power to rid all species beside humans to enable only human domination of the Mass Effect universe. The aliens you pick up in ME2 are only along for the ride, The Illusive Man will happily rid them once the mission is accomplished and he's got his way.

I can't wait to see how that Reaper fleet manages to get to our galaxy from Dark Space because in ME1 it was said that the distance from our galaxie to DS was 20,000 light years or so. Unless some pleb in ME3 opens up a relay to DS.... :(

As for the IM, I have a feeling he is the Shadow Broker mentioned in ME1. There was a line that the IM said early on in the game stating something like 'he was the hub of all information', so I get the feeling he is a player very closely modelled to the G-Man from Half Life, setting events in motion. Could be wrong though :)

I fairly sure the developers said that the Geth story would be present throughout all of the Mass Effect trilogy

Saren opened the Relay in ME1, the Harbindger managed to possess a Collector, therefore, what's stopping the Harbindger from possessing another species to allow the Reapers to travel to the Milky Way?

That wouldn't make sense, mainly because in ME2, The Shadow Broker was going to sell Shepards body to the Collectors (i think) but Liara managed to get it from The Shadow Broker and onto Cerberus.

Apart from his eyes looking the same as when Saren was under complete control of the reaper in Mass Effect 1. Anyway I'm not going to argue, was just an idea, no need to go all Judge Judy :)

The collectors are reaper modified Protheans and so the reapers are able to control/possess them so far as the game has suggested there are no other species that the reapers can do this too except maybe the "heretic" (Reaper Virus infected) Geth however they probably won't be able to any more in my game as the heretics were wiped in my game.
