Something that at present wont be to widely ridden are newish to the UK market

Mondraker Factor

Mondraker Prayer

Interesting, however I wonder how good they are? Will my quest for a rare bike with good specs and an affordable price end? :D

Took me 6 months four years ago to find my beloved GT. I feel it may take longer to find a full bouncer...

Mondraker are supposed to be very reasonable they are getting good reviews, a new complete full susser on that budget is always going to be difficult especially if your wanting obscure makes and super specs! But its not impossible :)

If your up for a trip to Germany Rose Uncle Jimbo 1

Looking for some advice guys.

I had a big off around 4-5 months ago that I dislocated my shoulder, and partial on the other side.

The bike was stored sideways for a couple of months by a mate with spare room, and then on it's wheels the last couple of months back at mine. Went too have a ride tonight, and even with the Reba Team's pop-loc in place when I brake the suspension travels a substantial amount, tried it a few times on and off and still the same.

My mate said he did see what he thought was oil on the wheel when he had it stored sideways, does this sound like it's coming from the shocks, or possibly from the Avid Elexirs?

I'm assuming it now a case of a full suspension service? ( LBS website claim £130 sent away is that about right? )

Hmm I'm now half considering selling her, and starting a fresh.

Wondering what price might I fetch selling it as a whole setup, or as separate parts?

Merlin Malt 4 (in white) in good condition.

Frame 17 inch (M)
Wheels XT hubs, mavic xc717 rims
Forks Reba Team with pop-loc ( taking them to LBS tomorrow as I think it's time for a service ).
brakes Avid Elixir R Disc Brake Set fitted one ride ago.
Tyres Panaracer Fire xc pro (still on original tyres, spare road tyres too)
Stem / Bars FSA
Seat post FSA
Gears Shimano deore
Cranks Deore hollow tech/octalink
Wellgo MG1 pedals.
White used Spoon sadlle and unused brown one.

Thanks for any guidance.

I don't think I would trust myself doing a self-service, my skill's topped out at fitting the Avid brakes myself. The work was all done by my mate before at his bike shop for pretty much cost price and a pint, but he's sadly moved to the other side of the country.

Would you imagine me getting £500 for the bike as a whole unit?( without doing the shock ).

I would think you would have to be lucky I'm afraid. I buy almost everything second hand as most things are half price or less. Full bikes are hard to shift at a reasonable price as well.

What are you thinking of getting instead? Maybe keep some of the components and sell some then buy a second hand frame and bang it all together?

I'm not sure really, I'm tempted by a road bike, but then come driver months I'm sure I'll be kicking myself. Might just buy a better fitting frame ( need larger ) and get everything swapped over.

Been looking at the likes of a On*One 456 @ £139, but then they have the Ti version coming out early Spring that's had some cracking first rides.

Just given 2 of my bikes a wee strip down and rebuild service ready for the better weather.

in the process of doing the commuter at the moment, but it was used over the winter and is needing a lot more done to it :)

According to BikeRadar Rose are coming to the UK.

Anyway my GT is a cracker of a hardtail and not too common so I'm sure I can manage to get a FS that will suit.

I'm not in a massive rush as the GT is still in one piece...

I'm sadly saving for a RTW trip and a House Deposit at the moment, so it's either or really, and a mountain bike can morph with road tyres, road bike aren't quite as good with MTB tyres :p

I'm currently hoping too move NHS trust in the next few months, so can't start a C2W scheme either :(

I'm aiming for as many bikes as I can fit in the shed as possible...
Your doing it wrong.
Its not how many bikes you can fit in your shed.
Its how big your new shed needs to be to accomodate all your bikes :D

I think i have 8 bikes at the moment. Kinda lost count a bit tho. :)

what lube do i get for BMX? i was looking at CRC and there's like 5 different types of it dry, wet, extreme etc.. i mostly ride in a dry days some dirt gets on the bike and the chain obviously so which one do i get? any recommendations ? :) basically i want it to last long
