Anyone got a cyclocross bike? Looking for recommendations (not spesh tricrosses). Must be able to fit full length mudguards properly i.e, have full rack mounts. Don't want a tourer. Bike would only be used for fitness and occasional off road action.

have thought about this one more than once. Also look at the Kona Honky INC. (I am partial to disc brakes which is why I have been looking at these two).
Surly Crosscheck.
Yeah Surly Crosschecks always get good reviews. How about the new Salsa Vaya http://www.salsacycles.com/amigos/images/vaya_complete_lg.jpg if you can wait!
Try to avoid cheap bikes. They will just make you miserable - heavy, slow and unreliable.I was looking at a cheap bike £200-£250 mark just for cycling to work etc, would one of the afformentioned brands be okay?
That does look nice. Don't like the colour but could get used to it heh. When is it out?
n00by question here, but what are Carrera, Apollo, Raleigh etc like as brands?
I know nothing about bikes but I'd expect Kona, GT, Specialized etc to be far better and consequently more expensive.
For example, if I was looking at a cheap bike £200-£250 mark just for cycling to work etc, would one of the afformentioned brands be okay?
I'm looking too spend around £1300-£1500 on a full suspension light(ish) "all mountain" bike or a full bounce XC bike that isn't too fragile to take some knocks.
Everybody raves about the Boardman FS Pro but I've heard gripes about the frame on the Internets. Also trying to find a local Halfords that has one is bloody hard...
Specialised Pitch Pro looks OK but I'm not keen on the brand as everybody and his dog has one...
