tbh the trophy kills are just stupid, you dont have to be anywhere near the enemy to perform one. 10' behind a marine, press E, hey presto munching on his head.......

Aliens take way too much damage, 3 shotgun blasts at times....

No crouch for marines?! what that all about? is this going to be an aliens game without air ducts? :eek:
 
There is no middle ground in this.

If an alien locks on you're dead, if a pred locks on you're dead. There's no way to stop an attack...too much is done automatically imo.

I think thats the way it should be at least for the marine. The trouble is the flawed game mode, deathmatch does not work when all party's are unequal. Would be much better with one predator or a few aliens.

Well just had my first game. Marine which tbh was standard fps fare.

Came joint 1st with a predator and the trophy kill animation where he ripped my spine out was just quality as the camera stuck with my eyes and you could see my body fall to the floor followed by a standard predator roar! gave me goosebumps lol

Pretty much the first thing you see in the demo is a message telling you it's based on beta code and not representative of the final product. I don't know what further evidence you need to indicate that the final is going to be different.

For the record, I got one good game in on PC last night and I loved it. Assuming we don't have these long waits in the final this will be well worth £18.

If anyone's interested I played with everything on at 1680 x 1050 on the pc in my sig and it was silky smooth.

I'm not saying the final game is going to be bad, I'm quite looking forward to the SP, I'm just amazed at how readily people grab onto unsubstantiated rumours in an affort to convince themselves that the lump of coal in their hand is in fact a diamond.

Which it is, obviously, but only after a few million years more work :D

And as for 'what further evidence you need...' do you always believe everything devs tell about the game they're desperate to sell?

I would like to know where people are getting this 'the demo is 1 year old code' info from too. Almost all demos you play say something along the lines of 'its not representative of the final product'..........

Well we at least know that the final game won't be the same as the demo is DirectX9 whereas the full game is 11.

You said the demo is pap, and that what would make someone think the final product would be any different. Well I'm saying the disclaimer on the demo gives me reason to hope that the final product is much more polished. Besides the only issue I have with the demo are the crashing bugs, stuttering voice comms and long match making. Considering I know it's beta code I'm willing to buy it on it's strengths.

Go to steam forums it has been confirmed this is the e3 demo they showed off quite a while ago. Also this is the console version ported to be a demo for pc all the info is out there if you want to find it although it is much easier to just not look and dismiss people i know.
 
I had a go last night on the demo, while it was pretty poor im not going to judge the game based on that demo, for me its all about the single player and i will make my mind up once some solid reviews are out.

Besides its only 17 quid from a certain jersey place anyway.

That "disclaimer" is on 90% of demo/beta's. And 99% of the time its an outright lie and the demo turns out to be an exact representation of the final game. :/

I'll wait and see though. The only hope is that this is the demo from E3 as some have speculated.

As I said, it's clearly true in this case when it's only using Dx9.

who has confirmed, just looked on steam forums couldnt see anything :confused:

Im not denying its the truth, if rebellion have confirmed it then fair enough, its just all ive seen so far is random joe in forums stating it
 
Maybe just me but I'm finding the MP part of this game pointless, not to mention drivel but benefit of the doubt given as its not released yet.

I want a good solid SP game where I'm not jumped on every 2 seconds by hoards of bunnyhopping predator clans etc.

I want the suspense to build up slowly, moving through dimly lit corridors with all the sounds we've come to know so well and scared me to death, after all thats what these films were about.

Not zooming around with another 20 Predators while I mash the 'kill key', and not being bothered if I die cos I respawn, sorry thats not what made the previous game scary.

They seem to have most of the components to make a really good game , I wonder if they will put them together properly ?
