*** Supreme Commander 2 ***

So what is the amout of units each player is allowed? Im sure it was 1000 each in sup com 1

I think at one stage i had 400 level 3 bombers attacking my mates commander...cue them half of them getting nailed by 300 level 3 fighters! This was whilst a 300 vs 300 ground attack was going on

If its 120 units per person they are not getting my money. Hell, even if its 120 of each unit, its still rubbish! If its 120 unit types then fair enough.

Dont see how an Xbox 360 could cope with 8 players, 1000 unit count each and 80km map = .5 fps / crash

I am sure it will vary. In SC it often increased during the mission when you got new objectives. As the Xbox is a closed system it will be easy for the dev's to find the limit of the Xbox and to set that as the max.

Well, I'm pleased that the rumour-mongering has been squashed :)
SC rocked due to the sheer epic scale, long may that continue :D

I just hope the smaller map sizes don't limit the scale. Guess we won't know 'till after release. 20 x 20 is OK, I just loved some of the epic turtling on larger maps!

No matter what, I'll be buying the game for sure.

Hasn't Starcraft II been delayed - there's a thread somewhere here about it ...

Glad to see the unit count thing was just lost in translation - looking forward to the release :D

Anyone know why steam still haven't put it up for sale yet?

Nevermind the unit cap, what about the economy changes? It's going to be C&C style instead of the old Total Annihilation\SC\FA approach, according to the Gamespot Q&A with Chris Taylor himself.

When is Startcraft 2 out? Wasnt that supposed to be March too?

The SC2 beta is just about to start (they have already been testing the game internally a lot with some of the korean pro gamers), so it wont be out in march, but at least it will be out this year sometime.

Every single RTS has gone down this road and I've not spoken to a single person who likes it, so what are they up to?

Dawn of War 1 > 2 : Reduced unit cap, no bases
Command and Conquer 3 > 4: Reduced amount of units, no bases
Supreme Commander 1 > 2: Less units, smaller maps, smaller battles

RTS is almost dead to me now :(

you and me both :(

Cannot wait and someone I think mentioned Sorian AI is within the game from the get go, doesnt get better then that !

Modding Community are just gonna explode on this one.

Heck ive sold off my entire PC and using a temp pc for now am thinking a nice Corei5/Nvidia next gen PC for late march/April just for sc2 :)

I like SC & FA and wanted to play online in the past but can't keep up, i got the sorian AI's last year and only played the game for a while before i stopped, those AI's are rather good, perhaps too good, it was like i was trying to play online again!

Any good tips and strategys?

I loved SC:FA. It's been on of our favourite LAN games since it was launched.

However what I would like to see from the sequel is some serious work on game performance as FA could run shockingly slow on even overclocked quad core processors, and ideally a native 64 bit executable that can use as much memory as is available to it.

32bit is becoming more and more of a hinderance in PC gaming and I wish companies would begin the process of moving on.

Sorian actually got drafted in by the developers and hes now part of their team!

Looks to me like a dumbed down version of a game that was just taking off and already had quite a few very simple elements in it. Sigh. It will be modded to get the 1000 pop cap back though thats for sure, but i doubt the maps can handle it.
