Tyre width wont mess up your speedo surely?

Both are 40/17s which should be the same rolling radius.

nah tyres are width/%of width as profile/diameter

eg 205/40 have a profile size of 82
whereas
215/40 has a profile size of 86

however difference will be negligable in speedo reading

Not really done much but fitting Xsara "mist" washer jets instead of the **** 306 ones have been great. No more randomly squirting off the screen or getting blocked

Being the complete spanner that I am, I excitedly chopped the intercooler to throttle body hose in half and attempted to wedge the bov in between; the diameters were wrong and I had just, effectively, immobilised my car.

I wanted to cry.

My best mod has to be the power FC with commander

The car ran better, responded better and felt like it had an extra 30bhp just by plugging it in. Obviously it needs mapping to get the most out of it.

Get it mapped, Carl (Hayward) said it should be good for up to 80bhp after mapping and a decat with better exhaust. I'm off to get my map tweaked on Weds after fitting a FMIC.

What was it?

I've had lots of big smile moments after doing various mods - strangely enough I think one of the biggest smile moments was fitting a £20 grainger valve to an 03 Impreza WRX - 40 bhp gain in 20 minutes flat and the car sprang to life, different animal. Had lots of fun messing with various other cars too, but that up the boost moment on the WRX was truly magical.

Forgive my ignorance, but does 40 BHP make that much of a difference? Genuine question...

the second number is what % of the first number the sidewall size is..

so say 215/55/16 and 215/50/16, the sidewall in tyre 1 will be 118.25, tyre 2 107.5

I cant decide the full exhuast system (manifolds, y pipe, cat all stainless) and induction kit gave the car a really nice burble while drving normally but as soon as you plant your foot on the loud pedal it changed into a beast.

mk3 mondeo front calipers Ebc greenstuff pads and 300mm drilled and grooved disc made a big difference.

full Spax suspension kit, adjustable top mounts and poly bushes all round followed by a geo setup at WIM really made the car fun to drive again
