USF1 2010 car snapped...

:p

It is so difficult to fit pictures in with the sig height limit of 75 pixels. Would be easier if it was 400x100 :)

edit: sig changed to a McLaren road car until some decent pics of the MP4-25 come out ;)

Oooh interesting development! Was listning to Radio Norfolk yesterday during the football they had a chap at the factory to report on the first run of the engine. Last I heard was that they were still assembling with the gearbox waiting to arrive/be fitted.

Its looking good for Lotus, plan is to shakedown the car tomorrow, though its not the official launch so may have to wait for some spy shots.

HURRAH!

I really hope he doesn't go to Lotus - Tony Fernandes seems like a genuine chap - Nick Fry couldn't even get sponsors for Honda....

if i remember right he was pretty much a **** about button leaving to go mclaren aswell when now its obvious button was forced out and he didnt have much choice it was either mclaren or be in an uncompetitive car again like he has been for most of his career

Thought you'd like that news, Flibster ;)

It's now been said that he hasn't left Mercedes and is still CEO.

Bah!

Anyway - given what has leaked out from USF1 that they have vastly underestimated the work needed, they are running very behind, only have one tub and haven't passed all the crash tests yet - this is just inconsequential.

USF1's factory is up for sale.

*I know that they're the tenant, but thats not good for morale seeing the building of the team they are in up for grabs*

Stefan GP are waiting in the wings now... They have passed the crash tests.

how feasable is beeing based in america when a lot of the races are in europe anyway surely the traveling expense they would pay compared to a team based in europe would be pretty huge

They have that building and are also getting one in Europe to operate from during the season iirc.

Does anyone in the entire world honestly believe Campos are gonna make it? It's Stefan GPs spot now.

This whole new teams business has become a total joke - Prodrive, Lola, etc. must be crying/laughing themselves to sleep every night :(

Su

P.S. "Tub" = chassis, I'm guessing?

I was never convinced by the FIA's selection of new teams I have to be honest. Manor (Virgin) and Lotus I am very happy to see have got at least the initial job done. I never had any faith in USF1 or Campos, but hey, I'll be happy to see them on the grid if they make it.

Yup - dates back to the 50's iirc when the chassis essentially looked like a overly fat bathtub which was filled with fuel.

It was highly suspect - hence the Stefan chap taking the FIA to court over it. Prodrive and Lola would have been much better bets.
