***Official 2010 F1 thread***

Scott Speed was in F1? When the hell was this?

LOL, I just checked and apparently he competed in 21 races. He must've been seriously bad given that I don't even remember any of his performances. For his efforts, he scored a grand total of NIL POINTS.

He was in it for the 2006 season and some of 2007, before being replaced by Vettel. You must have a truley bad memory :p

The guy did nothing special of any note that would've made his name stick in my head. He must've performed the role of backmarker, religeously and to the letter.

Exactly, someone so amazingly bad should stick, like Monteiro, Karthikayen and Ralf.

Not that I want to stick up for him or anything, but....since when is 329 points, 27 podiums and 6 wins "amazingly bad"? Sure, his career at Toyota was pretty anonymous, but until then he hadn't exactly done badly in F1.

people love to hate him but truth is hes better than half the drivers currently in f1 and he spent the night in the same bed as jordan but didnt sleep with her.

RESPECT! is due hes not as big an idiot as people think

Either that - or he couldn't even score with her... ;)
she was whining about at in one of the girly mags years ago , my wife showed me it.

she was like "omg i slept in the same bed as a man and he didnt even try to have sex with me"

he probably has higher standards than to sleep with any old slapper that at the time was still just a model doing work for the jordan team and page three

I meant the Toyota era. Sure he did well before joining them, but that's not why most of us remember him, we remember him for the "I'm the third best driver on the grid" stuff.

I like Mike Gasgoyne, seems a good bloke.

Nothing I have ever read or heard points to that being true. He Is supposed to be a my way or the highway type of guy who will not alter from his viewpoint no matter how much evidence is presented to him.

They call him the rottweiller. Look at all the money he had at toyota and he did nothing with the team. He ran out of decent people to hire him.

Haha there are other rumours as to why he didn't sleep with the women ;)

LOL.

He did a terrible job at Toyota. All the money/resources at his disposal he was unable to design a decent car.

Toyota have gone through god knows how many technical directors *and even at one point announced that one person in charge of a teams technical development was out of date and inefficient* and still failed to produce a decent car.

Japanese management style and F1 does not mix.

As a Nawfuk boy Gascoyne will have my support, but he has built some decent cars with limited resources. He's no Newey, but he's certainly a capable designer.
