The *Official* Eve Online Thread

The most fun I've had in eve is since joining Libertas Fidelitas in 0.0

Combat is so much better in 0.0 and makes highsec and lowsec look boring.

Just last night I got 8 kills on a roam and loved it, especially when the enemy formed up a 95 man fleet to engage us, we ran like hell.

If combat isn't your thing then the large alliances also need a lot of logistics, miners, and manufacturers to build equipment for the PVPers to use.

Join a mega-corp, gain purpose :D

Is there still a lot of waiting around? Or is your time pretty action-packed?
I'm more of a combat man.

There is always something going on, every time I log in I can usually find a fleet forming up or a roam I can join within 20 minutes. And the fleets can be huge.

Its fair enough being in a corp with 100 people, but I'm in a corp with 100+, in an alliance with 700+, and in a coalition of providence holders with 2500+, and with the new fleetfinder getting involved couldnt be easier...

Oh and getting to a fight is much easier in 0.0 due to jump bridge networks. Some jump bridges will fling you 20 normal gate jumps instantly, they rock :D

You're tempting me to sign up for a month :P

Oh you're starting from scratch?

I fly caldari, but they have to be very tactical in PVP, dont do much DPS, and are pretty awesome at PVP

Minmatar are pretty good all rounders

Amarr is probably the best PVP race though...

Gallente are pretty good with drones and blasters...

All in all they are all fun to play as, you just have to know how to fly right :D

Well I did have an old school character with about 2 mil skill points. But I don't really like the name or picture and I think most of the skills are a bit duff now

Thing is you're going to need a basic skillset before moving into 0.0, may be worth entering our acadamy and training for a few weeks before moving out :D

All the races are pretty balanced but Minmatar are my fav. Loads of ships that cover pretty much every needed role in PvP, from fast roaming ships to support to battleships. Gallente are not quite as hot as they were a few years back, i don't fly them so much these days. But all the nerfs/buffs go in cycles anyway ;)

Pick one and focus on it at the start and you can't go much wrong. A good scout in an interceptor doesn't need many SP's to be effective.

I like Gallente for a starter race - and powerful in the hands of a pro too... only downside the most powerful configs are a little bit too short ranged - so just normal orbiting in a battle theres enough variance in distance to move you too far from optimal and you lose all that massive damage output.

That there is, some are allies, some are enemies, all have a hell of a lot of knowledge :D

Yeah if you could speed train for an interceptor its definately not a bad ship to have out in nullsec.

Its a frig that moves at over 4500m/s, can orbit battleships at about 20km very fast giving it enough transversal velocity to avoid any gun damage, and keep a warp scram/disrupt on the ship for as long as possible. It can also lock most things in less than 1.5 seconds and warp disrupt them, which is faster than most ships and even pods can get to warp.

No matter what fleet you're in, there should always be intys to point ships and keep them still for the bigger ships to rip through.

There are however ships you shouldnt try and tackle ever, one example is the vagabond, it will tare you a new one...

Any 0.0 corps have room for me and my alt?

I haven't logged in in several days since re-subbing due to the sheer boredom of empire. I tried applying to a couple of 0.0 corps, but the ones I went and applied for are looking for cap pilots, and I'm not there for a month and a half, making a skill bee-line for dread now though, just stuck on old Gallente BS 5. (Actually a Minni pilot primarily but I respecced Gallente because the Minni Caps are, well, crap, also shield tanked which I havent invested much into, I'm all armour).

Getting sidetracked there, Yeah, anyway as I said I applied for a few places, they seem to think I'm ebayed or something, due to my characters age, yet low skill points. I explained that I took a year (or was it 2? I forget) but I don't think they believed me. :( anyway, yeah, I kinda got a bit disheartened with it all after than and didnt log in since except to train skills. (New scanning system is awesome btw, its a pleasure to use now)

Err yeah, tl:dr, anyone got any room? :D

the new scanning system sucks, the old system was better, it meant there were less of us as you had to be better at it then. Now anyone can do it! booo!

As for 0.0, try the one that ocuk corp go to, STK scientific (i think)

Tried STK, they said no, just cap pilots. :(

As for scanning, I can understand completely, I put a good amount of time into the old system myself, but it was a complete pig to use you have to admit. Bloody mid warp bookmarks everywhere trying to get your probes in the right places.

Try 101st Space Marine Force in Libertas Fidelitas in providence. Apply at Esa, and post at the forums at http://www.101smf.org/forum
