Just watched banner of the stars and thought it was very good despite its age. Anyone know if there are any sequals and what order they should be watched in?
The order is:
Crest of the Stars
Banner of the Stars
Banner of the Stars II
Banner of the Stars III (unlicensed)
There is also a Crest of the Stars movie (unlicensed) but I don't know where that fits.
I quite liked the series although I did have some disk issues with them, (well they are Bandai releases). Pretty sure they are OOP now.
Hmmm, embarressingly enough I've watched the entirety of K-On! in the last few days, after having it recommended because of how much I enjoy music. I dont think I've even seen clips of an anime anything like it before. Parts of me were screaming or cringing inside, but as a huge music guy, I just couldn't quite bring myself to not enjoy an anime fundamentally about bands and making music, with an element of comedy thrown on top.
Would have been a lot better if it's persued more of the rock/metal element that the story hinted it could a few times (especially as the ending is more of a raw j-rock style piece, although the video reminded me of the Alice Cooper/Marilyn Manson video style!), but I enjoyed it. The 'friendly, innocent' teacher being a hidden rock/metal girl with some guitar skills was probably just a cherry on the cake
Does anyone know of any other anime focused around music in some form (especially guitar/rock/metal-based), doesn't have to be serious at all. I know there's Dethlok but that doesnt really count in this context as its not an anime.
I'd never really thought of mixing my love of music into trying to appreciate anime before.

Been watching Bleach - at ep61 - good god they waffle so much!!! It's like Dragon Ball Z - they just draw everything out over multiple episodes... I don't think I can get all the way through... just too much rubbish for too little good stuff.
In the not too distant future androids have come into common usage. Taking the androids for granted, humans treat them as if they were common everyday tools, while on the other hand, some people empathize with androids due to their human-like appearance (save for a digital ring floating above their heads). This has become a social problem and these people are frowned upon as a result. Rikuo, one who has taken androids for granted for his entire life, one day discovers that Sammy, his home android, has been acting strangely and finds a strange phrase recorded in her activity log. He, along with his friend Masaki, traces Sammy's footsteps and come upon an unusual cafe. This cafe's main rule is to not discriminate between humans and androids.
Anyone else seen Eve no Jikan (Eve of Jikan)? It was mentioned a while back but only just got round to it.
Eve no Jikan sounds like a serious non-hentai version of Chobits, might give this a go, thanks
full metal panic: Fomoffu,
If you like funny, check those out![]()
No offence alex, although I think it may be best if we don't turn this into a youtube thread (I'm as guilty of that as anyone).
You're right about a picture speaking a thousand words![]()
Unfortunately it is, (my BR player was set to region B and the first disk wouldn't play until I switched it to region A) ... I think that quite a few of Funimation's disks are region locked (with the FMA movie being an exception I have seen noted) ... I was going to say all, apart from that movie, are but I have a feeling that their Evangelion 1.11 disk is Region A/B ... hopefully I'll be able to look later.Memyselfandi, do you know if the FMP TSR disc is region locked?
I know it's relatively unusual with most of the non anime distributors, but have no idea about anime.
I know what you mean about the hankies ... but it's well worth it, (incidentally In A Palm of a Tiny Hand, the song which plays after things work out, shall we say, better the second time, is currently playing on my iPodI just finished the last episode of After Story proper, and I really, thoroughly enjoyed it, even if it did result in me resorting to the hankies.
Definitely one of the better Anime series i've seen recently, and I think much more engrossing than either Air TV or Movie.
I'm going to watch the OVA/recap episodes tonight I think, then move onto Negima1? or Eureka 7 for a bit, before going to Glass Mask.
