I3/I5/I7

See on there to me it shows there is nothing between them ok the 860 is stock 2.8 compared to the 920's 2.66gig so i would expect it to be faster but in the real world would a user notice any difference going from 920 to a 860.

Since you are not bothered about Crossfire a Core i7 860 based build would end up cheaper or have more RAM for a similar price, and have better stock performance in games and many other applications.

In the end i went for this setup common sense came in the end, i was unsure over the board though as the Asus i had been advised to get had gone out of stock but a chap posted a review over this board saying he got 4ghz easy so made sense.

Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3 Intel P55 is also able to overclock i5 750 to 4GHz, has 2xUSB3.0 and 2xSATA 6Gb/s and would have costed £45 less than the UD4.

Well, at least you got 2x eSATA 3Gb/s and 3x IEEE 1394a as extra. Hope they would be of some use to you.

Probably not lol but I got them I guess, I don't mind the extra but I guess I could have saved that mone.

If your UD4 can do symmetrical Crossfire and SLI at PCI-E 2.0 8X/8X instead of the usual crappy 16X/4X (meaning the 2nd graphic card in xfire/SLI won't work properly) for most 1156 sockeys board, it would be a big plus.

Edited: Just found out the UD4 would run the 2nd PCIE X16 at 8 lanes instead of 4! So you would be able to use xfire/sli on this board.

I know you said you are not interested in xfire, but since you paid the extra already, extra feature is always a good thing :D

Although you are not thinking about xfire NOW, but you might want to get another 5850 to xfire with your existing one if future games get more demanding XD

Great find i only went for the ud4 as i had been reading some reports of people having issues with the UD3 and when i read that review of someone buying it on this forum and hitting 4 gig on stock volts i thought maybe i get lucky.

But yeah i will deffo look into that would running 2x8 with say 2 5850's give me a good performance boost over 1 card at 16.

Done a bit of messing and got it up to 4 gig need to do some proper testing yet though, and more research but so far no problem at all.
