UKIP are just embarrassing

It's called proportional representation, which helps fringe nutters get their hands on the levers of power.

It represents the population proportionally....

So technically a bit of the uk come under the fringe nutter point :(

Ah well, hopefully everyone will notice his an idiot anyway as any argument that economic success should not come at a price to "national sovereignty" clearly has no idea what national sovereignty does... (aka NOTHING) And probably more importantly the idea of a nation state should be confined to history where it was made up (treaty of Westfailia a few hundred years ago defined it when it was needed, now though its a but redundant)

Great speech.

In what respect? He waffled for a bit, threw a couple of pretty playground insults and that was about it

It's pretty embarrassing that we have people representing our country who lower themselves to dishing out cheap insults like that in my opinion. He has a point in that the guy is hardly a towering figurehead of a continent but he just came across as a bit of a muppet in the way he chose to make his point.

- did, however, admit that he thought Mr Van Rompuy was "competent and capable", adding that this made him "dangerous".

Just lol.

So that explains our current governments eh, they're incompetent to keep us safe?

Although personally I'd much rather a competent and capable but unknown person to a famous incompetent person.

20mins in and they're still insulting our intelligence talking about bullying allegations.

It's not like the economy is falling apart or we're at war...

edit: referring to question time.

The man is an absolute disgrace. If Blair had become president, and all of the insults he's firing at Van Rompuy would have become moot, he would have insulted him for something else. He's anti-EU, no matter who the president was, he would be finding some way to insult him, it's just his job.

I usually say to ignore baffoons like this, but it's somewhat difficult when they're just this obnoxious and this infuriatingly rude. How could somebody possibly behave like that in that position? I wonder if MEPs from other nations behave in such a way (I don't really keep up with EU politics enough :().

The reason he says that hes dangerous is because he wants do dissolve seperate nation states, and if hes competant and capable then he's "dangerous" to people who are against that...

You can't really blame PR for UKIP getting seats. They got more votes than any other party other than the conservatives in the last EU elections. It isn't like UKIP got a few 3rd or 4th places, they came second in quite a few areas.

Speaking from personal experience, this guy is a pain and so full of himself. He walks around with his nose in the air and really fancies that his '**** don't stink'. I have encountered him several times and really don't like him. Even if I was not aware of his political leanings, I would never vote for him.

His outburst doesn't surprise me as he would look down his nose at The Queen.
