Ripped Jeans - Stupid or Cool

Why would you want to look so dishevelled and untidy. I just don't "get" ripped jeans - for lounging around at home, fine, but for wandering the streets and to look "cool" it's completely lost on me I'm afraid.
 
I have a couple of pairs tbh 1 being a set of ripped levi 501's. I like them and in the right situation I think that they can look good.

Each to their own. (Although the 1's on the right look terrible imho)
 
Ones on the right look awesome. That said not sure I could bring myself to wear them, outside at least.

or they do follow fashion but follow decent fashion. rather than the sort of fashion thats aimed at fake tanned white vest wearing nobbers

I have primark jeans (£13), I also have G-star Raw (£50 TK Maxx down from £115), I also have a pair of DKNY with some ripped elements in that cost me £30 from TK Maxx too.

I agree £190 is too much to pay for Jeans though...

My last pair of jeans annoyed me with a label I found inside them AFTER I bought them. "These jeans are designed to rip with use, it is a fashion design". Just a lame excuse to say they're crap jeans.
 
£190 for the pair on the right? I wouldn't even donate them to a tramp! Not that i'd buy them in the first place; i'm not a fan of ripped jeans.

£190 for a pair of jeans that look like they were found in a skip :eek:. I have a load of old work jeans in my drawer that look similar to those, I could make myself a tidy sum if i stick them up on ebay and sell them as new.
 
My wife pays good money for jeans with rips in the knees.
I get cheap jeans that wear out and get rips in the knees.
The last time I had rips in the knees of my jeans I was ecstatic because I thought I had joined the groovy gang.
But I was told I had the "wrong sort" of rips. WTF?
She buys 'em and they are funky.
I earn 'em and they are ****.

Admittedly this was a couple of years ago, but the principle remains.
 
I've thrown away a shed load of jeans like that, and to think...I could have made a killing selling them on.. damn.
