new pair of pants for the Renault driver please....

If I saw that I'd get in front of the Lorry and pull it over. I hope everyone inside were ok.

Likewise, I'm nothing to do with the police, but I'd be in front of the lorry with all the lights and hazard warnings on, waving my arms franticly and blasting the horn, very gradually slowing down but maintaining a gap. Then if he stopped I'd probably join the Renault driver in conjecturing that the truck driver's mother was a prostitute.

edit: My bad hes not in the outside lane, its the middle lane.

Seems the people in the car couldnt do much anyway by then as they are apparently on a slip road leaving the motorway.

Indeed, I'm amazed at how so many people would just not 'help'..

I saw a lorry leaving a service station, one of his trailer wheels was locked, with smoke pouring out and it making a horrific noise, yet he hadn't seen it, so I quickly got along side towards the end of the slip road, gesticulating with hazards on etc to get him to pull over..

At first he was pretty 'defensive', wondering why I got him to stop, but was quite grateful in the end, that tyre would have popped at some point, which isn't quite the big deal the OP video is, but still, I couldn't just sit there and do nothing.

I can't think why anyone would just let something like the OP's video carry on without trying to alert the truck driver!

WHAT THE....!?!

That's insane! Hope everyone was ok!

How on earth do you not notice that?!

If a truck has cruise control (which it probably does) then the driver might not notice on the throttle because it would automatically keep the same speed by applying more throttle - but how the driver didn't hear the initial crunch I don't know.

There's a truck driver on here that might be able to explain...

Yeah, best leave that sort of thing to the relevent persons, best not to get involved in these sort of life threatening situations really.

how is it a life threatening situation for anyone but the people in the clio?

If you pulled in front and tried to get him to slow down, noticed he was in fact totally bonkers and tried to ram you or what ever, you just put your foot down. It doesnt take much to out accelerate a lorry that's sat on its speed limiter.

It's still a life threatening situation without intervention is it not? You can at least try to flag down the driver. Taking the usual British approach of 'I don't want to get involved' is a poor show.
