I've not raced anyone in the 4 months i've had the evo. I've had several "triers" but not as many as i though i'd get.
Most of them are kids in, without being condescending, cars that probably still wouldn't stand a chance if I turned the boost off.
It's simply not worth the fuel, the danger, or risking the license.
Most people who give it a go in more equal or better cars, do aggressive overtakes - usually on dual carriageway and even if I wanted to it is pointless to engage them as i'd have to do stupid speeds just to catch up.
An example was an E46 M3 who saw me overtake another car on a motorway (rather conservatively) and decided to come screaming up behind me and sit off the bumper. He was subjected to a prolonged washer jet spray and my fabled World's slowest lane change™. Much more fun.
He then pulled alongside me, revved his engine a few times and then zoomed off.
As said in other threads, knowing you can is half the fun.
I do however have blats on my own, usually in remote areas I know, where it is relatively safe. I personally don't feel the need to race other people to enjoy my car.
