G'morning OcUK,

Yesterday I made the discovery that my brother has shelled out £14.5k for a brand new Corsa.

I made a brave effort trying to explain to him why this was an abysmal decision, however, he was having none of it.

This post is merely for two things:

1) To show him what an idiot he's been by the educated replies of the OcUK forumites.

2) For me to vent my frustration that anything I said to him didn't manage to penetrate his skull.

The Corsa VXR is a really good small hot hatch. Sure if I was buying one I'd wait to get one a year or so old..

Overall it's only the price that's a bad thing.
 
Tell your brother he is an idiot and he should re-think his plan. So what its a VXR, there are sooooooo many out there for that price that offer more power, and look so much better for example; Clio 182, Focus ST so on, and so fourth.

Eh? I'm not sure I want to spend 14k on those suggestions either!
 
27 years old and wants a Corsa?

I don't care if its rocket powered and gives you fellatio everytime you drive it. 27 years old and wanting a Corsa is pathetic. Does he have no ambition, no aspirations, no desire to further himself?

A what now? and you'd spend 14k on a 182 despite it being out of production for about 4 years?

It's not a VTR.

The Clio 182 doesn't have more power and looks are down to personal taste.

Pointless thread is pointless. It isn't like a 'I am about to buy a car what do you think' thread where we can offer advice. Neither is a 'Look at my new car and tell me how amazing I was to buy it' thread where we can share opinions.

We don't know this guy, he doesnt post here, we'll never know him. It's a 'Somebody somewhere bought a car' thread. GREAT!

He could have bought a FERRARI MONDIAL for that money!!

I don't know you, but a 182 at 17 is not a wise combination.

I remember when I was 17 and I was a complete **** even in a Ford KA. I dread to think what I'd be like in a powerful car like that.

Would you be able to get insured on a 182 at 17?
