The *Official* Eve Online Thread

A gate bubble is subtly different to a pos bubble though in that it increases your heart rate and makes you break out in a sweat when viewed from the inside :)

I wasn't referring to a POS forcefield, we have a Mobile Large Warp Disruptor II anchored nearby to welcome visitors :)

Stop by Meths(Fud) we need something to play with :D

What time do you want me there for?

Do you want me to bring anything with me? I can fit most of my tech 2 stuff in my Myrm.:)

Your welcome any time you feel like coming, alliance forums will give you location of the current entrance though you will probably need one of us to guide you in initially. Not sure how you would fare in sleeper combat but a well fitted BS or BC with an omnitank would probably suffice to give it a go. Hopefully this evening we will run some sites ;)

IMO I hate faction warfare, its like constant high sec war, and high sec wars suck.....

0.0 warfare is the best fighting by far, just have to be part of a good PVP alliance. Even carebears have a purpose in 0.0, making money and building stuff to sell to PVPers to fight with.

Yeah been in a couple of 0.0 alliances, I'd really prefer something slightly smaller scale, and faster though. Most engagements we'd get in null went down at like 1am :(

*When warping to a gate in lowsec don't warp to 0m, warp to 100m to make sure it's not camped by a gang capable of tanking the sentry guns

Disagree with this one. Warping to 100 means you can't re-warp to the gate. Better option is to warp to the nearest planet and D-scan the gate if local is busy. Or better still, if you use a route regularly, make some 200km bookmarks so you can scout the gate, then do a quick warp to it. There is little they can do in lowsec except watch you jump out anyway. More of an issue is what's waiting for you on the other side. If you're in null, and you see a bubble or interdictor, it's more of an issue though, if you are due to land on grid with it, and your warp intersects it you'll get caught.

WIS/Ambulation/Incarna looks increasingly like vaporware:eek: and the upcoming planetry expansion is hardly inspiring. Time for a break again methinks:p

Really is a love/hate thing with eve

@Laser there are lots of smaller corps operating out of NPC 0.0 that only do small scale pvp if thats what your after. Corp i'm in at the mo (unless i've been kicked for going inactive:P) base in fountain core and rape the unwieldy space holding alliances/renters in the region.

I fly Gallente, I have 2.5m SP.

I have a very keen interest in 0.0 and was wondering..how do minmatar fare for 0.0, and is it reccomendable to drop gallente to train minmatar if im very pvp-minded?

Nothing wrong with gallente, especially their inties/assault frigs are good, no reason not to train both minny and gallente frigs so you can get in on the overpowered angel ships (though maybe nerfed since i last played xd)

Cruiser and up i'd focus Minny with the way the game is currently but the races go up/down so you can't really go wrong. It would be a crime to not fly a hurricane at some point though:cool: . Triple sensor boosted arty cane is the most fun you can have in eve \o/

Highly tempted to give Eve another go. First time I played for a couple of months I got a bit ahead of my self and lost 2x ravens trying to solo some hard lvl 4s (cleared the easy ones fast which made me a bit cocky) then got fedup.
Are kaldari ships with rails any good/fun in pvp? or would I be better off starting a new character with a different race. I wanted to try some long/medium range low sec combat but quit before I got round to it. I'm a total noob at the game but it looks immensely fun once you have the skills and I love the leveling while and work and playing in the evening.

I know the Rohk with rails is a nice ship for sniping, but if you have played as Caldari before I'd go for a different race to make a nice change :)

Drag bubble camps are where the enemy place a warp disruption bubble (the anchorable type or maybe a heavy interdictor) say 50km behind or in front of the gate.

The mechanics of these bubbles mean that if you warp relatively in line from another point in space these bubbles will pull you out of warp into the bubble rather than at the destination you were warping to.

So say you emerge at a gat in a 0.0 system, you initiate warp to another gate say 50AU away and if there is a bubble setup 50km behind the outgoing gate inline from where you came from, you would not drop out of warp on the gate, but in the bubble. And waiting for you will probably be some nasty ships who want to kill you.

If you are in a large ship these situations are deadly (unless you have backup) if you are in a small ship you may be ok. Just MWD and burn away, overload your MWD helps.

The other kind, bubble camps are where an enemy sets up multiple overlapping bubbles on a gate. Say you jump through you will emerge in space 15km roughly from the gate and sadly if the enemy are clever with the positioning of the bubbles you will immediately find yourself unable to warp out due to being in a bubble. These are slightly easier to escape, but only slightly.
Again if in a big ship you will generally die. If you are in a small ship MWD back to the gate, however the trick here is to hold your cloak as long as possible after jumping to wait out your session timer.
If you panic, hit MWD to the gate, even if you do make it back you will possibly be prevented from jumping by the time limit between session changes (session timer i.e jumping between systems etc.) so hold your cloak to wait out the timer, MWD under overload and spam the jump button.

If you have good spatial awareness and a fast warping ship however you can possibly look for gaps in the bubble and take a chance at warping out while in one.

Does MWD work in bubbles? I tried it in one of my alliances' bubbles and the message said unable to use due to interference......

mwd's work in bubbles chances are you were scrambled by a warp scrambler which disables MWD's but requires the enemy be very close around 9k

I would stick with gallente for your first char, once you have more experience you might want to specialise in one of the other races.

I don't know how your SPs stack up but IMO before you get too interested in 0.0 you should have as a minimum around 1M SP in Engineering and Mechanics each and atleast 0.5M SP in Gunnery and Spaceship command, a reasonable amount in things like navigation, drones and so on also helps.

Depends really, I've been playing EvE almost a year as Gallente and now for pretty much everything I wish I was Caldari.

Drake, CNR, Nighthawk, Golem & Tengu covers just about everything
