*** Final Fantasy XIII ***

Seeing as you have the guide, can I ask where I can find the following:
Fire, Lightning, Wind & Earth Charms.

if I sold them (which is possible) then I guess I cannot do the all weapons/accessory task.

I just have:
-Long Gui (Almost beat him, he seems pretty easy with 3 maxed out characters)
-All weapons/accessories (not bothering till I can figure out if charms are still obtainable)
-All 5 star missions (shouldn't be too hard, I only have 20/64 I did not manage 1st time round)

I used 2 elixir's to beat the Long Gui. Summon knocks him to the floor and then just enfeeble and dmg him, when he gets up use elixir and summon again took me 4 minutes.

The all weapons/accessories trophy only requires you to of had the item at any point in time so you can sell or dismantle whatever you want and you will still be able to get the trophy.

I wasted the Elixir I had ages ago (by accident) and could not find any more :(. I beat him yesterday anyway. Knocked him down once with a summon and once manually defeating his legs. The trick, for me, was using Fangs highwind attack. During Stagger it can take out 90% of one leg or 1.2 million damage on Long Gui, when he has been knocked over.

With the summon technique I can beat the normal tortoise in sub 2 minutes, but I always have to run around winning random fights to build my TP bar up afterwards.

I got 5 stars, although it took me about 6 minutes (I think the target time was about 15 minutes or something).

Only all Weapons, and all 5 Star missions left. All 5 star missions should be easy.

I am not sure if I will do all Weapons/Accessories. The Catalysts cost a lot of money and I don't have that many (Dark Matter costs 200k each!).

Can't wait till Easter to get stuck in to this properly, got 10 days of work so should be able to get a fair bit done in between other things.

Don't think I'll put the game down till I've got all weps to ultimate (if possible?) and all roles maxed on all chars.

me and you both, but i doubt i will be able to get all the weapons and clear all the missions in 2 weeks, but it will be fun trying :D

Ooo no, I don't intend on doing all that over Easter :p

I'd be happy to finish the story and the missions in that time though. I've not had much time to play it since it came out so I've only just got passed Odin (which I somehow managed to one shot without really knowing what I was doing).

Finally finished it, last boss was a pita.

<spoilery highlight bit>
Second form of the last boss was just so horrible. Eventually ended up using the poison method of going Vanille (leader) / Light / Hope - setup as SAB/MED/MED and SAB/MED/SYN. Started on the first due to the initial knifey smackdown thing he does, then switch to the second and buffed up and switched back to the first and just spammed Poison. Went down in just under 6 minutes and got 5 stars. Went from being near impossible for me to laughably easy. Had to use 3x Cherub's crowns fully maxed out which got me to 84% Death resistance to avoid getting one shotted - quite possibly one of the lamest abilities I've seen on a FF boss.

Ending was pleasantly better than I was expecting it to be, thoroughly enjoyed it :) Now to complete all those Cie'th stones and max out the Crystariums!

Almost picked up the guide earlier... But resisted simply because I want to learn the game, rather than be shown it :)

I think the guide is great, I didnt actually open it til I got stuck a good few chapters in, and even then it didn't help a great deal as the suggested strat didn't work out for my guys. As long as you play the game first, and use the guide as a last resort I think you'll be fine, don't let it lead you through things :)

Actually, I got my partner to read aloud some of the guide pages when I was stuck so I didn't see what was coming next ;) gamer-girlfriends are awesome :p

to be honest all the guide really does is let you not miss treasure chests, and tells you the best places to grind and gives you tips on how to beat the bosses, i look it as a time saver hehe

The best part of the guide is the more useful information like tables of all weapon and accessory data & statistics, Paradigm Shift combinations and roles, which components are best to use for upgrading, Crystarium routes and CP costs, etc.

This, i never used the guide until i got to chapter 12 and still now i haven't read a single bit of the walkthrough part of the guide. But the statistics and information on upgrading, enemy intel has been extremely useful.

Well the maps are obviously still useful for knowing what the treasure orbs contain or incase you happen to miss one.

Quick question, but do you get to fight the "big" dude that munches another enemy in a certain cutscene? Obv dont want too many spoilers lol

Done everything now apart from the "Treasure Hunter" (hold every weapon and accessory).

Missing 2 XMB themes out of 7, I guess 1 is for Treasure Hunter and one is for having all other trophies.

The accessories and weapons need so much materials and Gil to upgrade that it will take hours upon hours of farming. I assume the final form of a lot of the weapons cannot be found and has to be transformed from a lower version of the item, making it very "expensive". Just doing the 1st 3 items I am missing would cost about 2.5mill Gil.

Anyone with the guide able to confirm whether Wurtzite Bangle, Kaiser Knuckles & Magistral Crest are obtainable through spoils/treasures or whether you have to construct them?

looking at the game from where i stand it surprises me that so many people find the all weapons/accessories ach to be the problem are enemies like attacus really so easy to 5star? i mean i kill ordinary eemies for fun but maxing all my chars and 5 starring every enemy seems harder than just farming gil and dark matter

Once you have the X2 CP accessory it is relatively quick to max out all characters. And with a level 9-10 character and a half decent weapon it is easy to beat most enemies. I was maxed out with my 3 mains when I fought Attacus and didn't find him to be a problem. Much harder bosses in the game apart from him.

I thought the all accessories would be easy, but just calculating how much Gil I need makes me realise it would be really time consuming, as Gil is the one thing you cannot easily farm, or multiply.

Also it is more "fun" farming CP and trying to beat enemies to progress and missions etc. Now I have completed everything in the game, upgrading weapons seems time consuming, and pointless, it is not like I will be needing them to beat any more bosses etc. So I would just be grinding and upgrading constantly, having to keep notes as well.
