***Nvidia GTX480 & 470 reviews & discussion***

I'm not disagreeing that HD5850CF is faster, only that based on your posts I kinda think your an idiot and almost certainly a fanboy. :D

I'd buy an NV card RIGHT now if they released something that beat ATI for the money ... but they haven't.
Equally, it would be nice if they stopped being bigger ****s than Intel were in the past (but hey, Intel stopped and here I am running an Intel CPU for the 3rd time in a row).

No you quoted the 2x 5850 price as £442 which means you chose the cheapest 5850 against the most expensive 480's.

I believe I was the one to quote 5850 prices, and I was using the first Asus or Sapphire card in the OCUK list as an example (as I like those brands)

but they still get released...and sell :p

Also, i seem to remember the GTX 285 was a fair bit more expensive than a 4890 but for very little performance increase....
Madness isn't it? I can understand the CUDA and 3D niche markets but Nvidia price/performance has been eroded with each gen to the point now that other than specialist areas you would either be better going with the 5870 or the 5970. It just doesn't make sense otherwise.

You are the brick wall, since you fail to see 2x5850 is faster for the same money than the 480 thus making the 480 pointless.

AS people keep on telling you but you don't listen.
If you want to do highend graphics and convert raw HD and you want to use CS5 to the full you need a 285GTX min or a 4** card..

Have you got it now :)

OH and I can play games as well into the bargin ;)

True. the card that makes me laugh most of all (and demonstrates it the most) is the GTX 470 though. More expensive (well, a little more) than a 5870 and yet only a bit better than a 5850

I mean at least the 480 is actually faster than the 5870 so it just about remains credible at it's pricepoint but the 470???

People are questioning you/disagreeing with you because the problem is you are spamming every thread in the Graphics forum spouting mostly anti-Nvidia rubbish - look back on your last 50 or so posts.

No-one is arguing that there aren't better value, better performing graphics cards available but you can't seem to accept that the 480 is the fastest single GPU available today - look at what 99% of review sites say. It's ridiculous/boring now and gives people no reason to take anything you say seriously.

CUDA has been shown to run on ATi cards pretty well, so most CS5 features could probably work with some ATi hacking :D

I never said it wasn't the fastest, I simply said so WHAT that it is the fastest. It's not the FASTEST SETUP for the price.

Well I didn't as I can buy a pair of 5850 for under £400.

Would you prefer this,

For £870 your can pre order a pair of GTX480's, that are %15 (?) faster than a pair of overclocked 5850 for £400.

That better ?

much. No bias there you see.

Oh.. please show me the ATI white paper for Cuda on the GPU please.

As I have said to you already it's got to be on the GPU and software SDK to fully work.

Well it is a little bias as the 5850's are a little overpriced, and I have to pay postage on the GTX480's. LOL
