youtube going backwards

Anyone else thinking all this is rubbish and prefer the good old youtube and profiles back ?

Yes. I was annoyed when they removed the 'Videos watched-' count on your profile, and then everything seemed to go downhill from there. I also getting fed up of the 20+ second ad's that plague the beginning of the videos.

On a positive note though, I like the Auto-play feature.

Well we're going to have to get used to it:
- They're the biggest online video streaming place
- They've got monopoly on the market
- They can do what ever they want

Obviously I don't like it myself, but what can you do?

Well Id rather have a good moan about it, than do absolutely nothing and just accept it TBH.

What is the point of having a youtube account anyway? I use it to watch some game/hardware reviews thats about it.

Whats the advantage of having an account?

Uploading, mainly. Plus you can favourite videos etc.

I don't really like their changes either, but like Facebook, we'll just have to accept it...

oh yeh facebook is bad, everytime I log in it's totaly different. Can't even find my wall now, gave up using it regularly and just use it to snoop on people's lives once every 6 months.

Will IMDB follow this next - imagine if you could no longer rate a movie out of ten, you just had to rate whether you liked it or disliked it??

What the hell is it with this dumbing down crap today.

I really like the new video layout. And the thumbs up/down system is better than the star rating imo. The profile pages were better before though.
Also I dont blame them for trying to save bandwidth, I mean videos use a lot of bandwidth, which ads cant neccessarily cover - especially as theyve removed in-video ads and also more and more people are using adblock.

To elaborate on my point, what I mean is: the average length of a youtube video is say 3-5 minutes. I'll watch about 15-20 videos in anyone visit to my subscription page, which range from tech reviews, game trailers, blogs, unboxings, gameplay+ commentary videos, music vidoes, tv...the list goes on. I just didn't think the five star rating system did this variety justice, you cant judge one video against the other.

Im not retarded, honestly :)
