What 42" TV?

A wise choice! I was very suprised at the ability of connecting a hd to it, for recording tv. Panasonic have a real gem here!

Can you record on the games channel too? Like a ps3 or something?

Im thinking about getting a new HD tv. Got a 40 inch 1080i sony bravia at the moment but I was going to put that in the bedroom and get a new 1080p down stairs. 42inch +

G20 good is it?

Any recommended for gaming on ps3? :p

From what I've read the G20 at whichever size you go for would be great for gaming - although apparently the V20 and VT20 would be best but they'd be rather expensive for a console TV so the G20 would fit the bill as a great median (yet still awesome) screen :)

Trying to hold out on grabbing a 50" but am oh sooo tempted - would have to work out how to get it into my room!!

Rainforrest doing my head in, the price dropped another £30 so I cancelled and rebought it £30 cheaper. Still no sign on when it will be delivered though, it estimates May!!! First time Rainforrest have let me down a bit here.

Hey guys, can you let me know where you picked the 42G20 up from? email in trust as you can't link competitors here :)

I picked up a Samsung LE40B650 the other day but the backlight is not uniform, obvious areas on the screen are brighter than others which I wouldn't expect to see on a new £700 TV! So i'm seriously looking at getting this now instead.

Thanks!

Just to let you know guys.
If you'd rather walk out of a store with one rather than wait for delivery,
just spoke to a guy at RS and he agreed that they would price match provided final price didn't
include any voucher codes and the item was in stock on whatever site you saw it for the cheapest. :)

Have taken receipt of my G20 yesterday and I have been blown away by it. It was dead easy to set up, autotunes everything, DVB, analogue and freesat and only takes a few minutes. I didn't opt to connect wirelessly, and so just plugged the ethernet cable in the back and followed a few simple steps. The VieraCast facility works very well and am very impressed with its gadgetry.

The connectivity of the tv is excellent, offers everything you could possible need. I am now looking into buying a usb hd, about 1Tb and 7200rpm, to test out the recording capability, still a big bonus to this tv. Freeview HD comes across quite well although I am yet to test this with a bluray player. DVD's even look top notch on this set, although I am not sure if that is because I am just used to the very low standards of my last tv....

Awesome stuff physichull, can't wait to get mine at the end of the month. :D
Question:
Whats the deal with putting a wi-fi dongle in this?
Every dongle I've used in the past has installed some kind of software on the machine (computer) I'm using it with, so whats the deal with this. Had a quick look around but never found a satisfactory answer.
The thought of hiding yet another cable through my lounge is far less appealing than its wi-fi alternative.
