The *Official* Eve Online Thread

Few of us are in Gentleman's Club/Atlas.

Ah, hello MotherMayI... I believe that we are of the same alliance. :)
I heard about PL's fight last night, not very good with the losses but they must be applauded for their tenacity.
I am still struggling to make it to the War zone, missed the jump boats over Easter. So I am trying to pod my way there this weekend.

If your corp has put an office up in the staging system (wont put it on here for intel reasons) then just get in a naked jumpclone in your homesystem, put your medical clone at the staging system, fly outside and self distruct.

After that get your corp / alliance logi to either JF in your shiney new gear from Jita, or get them to freighter it to the nearest high sec system.

I managed to get ready for the war in under 30 minutes coming out of Scalding Pass.

Thats exactly what I did. There are a lot of people running JF's from Jita constantly, I got a hanger worth of new ships all fitted delivered within a matter of hours at +10% Jita cost. Just ask in Alliance or check forums for who to speak to.

Anyone near Eloyna (sp?) that I can salvage L4 missions for, currently doing L2's in a borrowed Vexor trying to get standing but its takes forever! I've made about 4.5 million in a few nights :( I've done it a few times for the OCPS lot but no-one seems to be on lately. Lord/Lady Melon kindly lent me a Catalyst with a load of tractor beams/salvages on with a daft amount of storage space, you can keep everything - the bounty + standing rewards are more than enough!

Reason is I've been training skills for 2-3 months and just about got the skills to run a Battleship (Dom/Mega?) effectively but I haven't got the ISK to buy one, let alone fit it with T2 parts!

Frapgusi in game or Frapple on Steam.

Could also do with something to do once I've got a source of income from L4s - Fleet stuff seems like fun but don't want my game to become scheduled, and sitting at gates waiting for folk sounds like watch paint dry that occasionally catches fire.

2-3 months and into a battleship already? :o

(I don't know if that's normal nowadays, it was several months before I got into a BS and felt comfortable flying it)

I run L4 missions from time to time and never bother looting or salvaging so you're welcome to mine the next time I'm on.

I did subscribe a year or two ago and played for a couple of months, mainly did learning skills so it's quite quick this time round!

Getting in to a Battleship and actually being able to fly one successfully are a world apart. I imagine you will not have sufficient combat abilities, or even fitting abilities for that matter, to run a battleship effectively for a good while yet. While it is possible to run some of the easier L4's at that stage, I expect sooner or later you will slip up and lose your ship. I'd advise you to take your time, don't rush in to a BS.

Pretty much what I was going to say.

When I had my alt in a pirate corp we had great fun with people flying ships they couldn't fly properly :D

Try L3s in a Brutix or Myrmidon, it's really the bridge between L2 and L4 (sorry if that's being obvious :p) If I'm ever missioning, you're more than welcome to hoover up my loot/salvage as I generally leave it, although my missions go a lot slower whan others as I'm lazy. Ask in OcUK channel in game whenever you're looking to do some salvaging, others may be happy to let you do theirs too.

Frapple: Send me a steam invite.

What are you flying atm? I'm just starting level 4's and while I can tank all of the damage in most missions my DPS is so low they're taking ages.

I'm near Elonaya and you're welcome to fleet up with me if I'm on and actually do some shooting in the missions once I've got all the aggro on me. You can keep the bounties you get.

I'm Fudwap in game and generally on quite late at night.

2-3 Months in here and picked up my first BS couple of days ago :D

I'm sure Durzel has his own opinion on my ability to fly one ;) but I'm running L4/5 skills for armor tanking w/ T2 modules and mostly L4 for drone skills so good enough for piloting Domis in missions upto L4 and probably fine for PvP aslong as its with an experienced FC.

Only way I'm gonna screwup on a L4 is if I'm warp scrammed while either tripple webbed or extremely neuted.

this.

It took me 2 weeks to fly a raven and 10 minutes to lose it, it then took 3 months to use it effectively.
