Autoglym glass polish, apply with MF cloth, wipe off with newspaper.
 
Gave my car a clean over the weekend. And yes i do suck at taking photos.

Cheers for the tip going to try some of this blue roll dad got from work seems quite strong but soft. Failing that I got some glass polish so will whip the elbow grease out.
 
Well my Chemical Guys "Wet Mirror Finish" arrived, along with the Menz. pads, no sign of the Autoglym SRP as yet though (got damn royal mail)
 
Had a quick go at removing some swirls on the other halfs car.

Need a faster cutting pad and maybe some Menz 85RD 3.02 to remove the deeper scratches.
 
I've just spent 155 quid on a G220, Megs UC, Foam Polishing Pad, masking tape :p, #26 wax and some polishing cloths to remove product.

Hopefully I'll be able to get rid of the bird etchings on my bonnet/door.

My s2000 looks like the first pic above atm :(
 
How do you do body-colour Wing mirrors with a DA, doesn't the product just spin off the pad?

Also is it entirely necessary to mask the bonnet off? Can you not do the entire panel in one go?

Small pad, primed on another panel would be my way of doing a wing mirror, failing that, a very light cut and LOTS of elbow grease.

Trouble with working a large area in one go, is that you will struggle greatly to get proper coverage, and work it all evenly and without it drying out.

So mask into quarters removing the tape once each bit is done and do the remainder?
 
Did the RX8 this afternoon, just a quick job, done in less than two hours. Washed (2bm), Clayed, Waxed (Natty's Blue), Tyre Shine (Megs Endurance), Trim Restored, Glass Cleaned (Megs Glass) and Interior plastics done and leather cleaner applied (Megs Gold Class).

is washing your car once a week a bit excessive? i washed my car last Friday but it is really dirty already and covered in pollen :(

is it necessary to wax my car each time i wash it? a friend of mine said there is no need to wax each time i wash it and that he only waxes his once every 3-4 months.. but doesnt a wash take off the existing wax??

i'm wondering if a quick rinse with water will just wash off the pollen...

No need to tape, just do it in quarters without tape. In fact I'd split it into 6 areas, 1/4 of a bonnet is a bit large. Tape is just a gimmick for detailers to impress their online buddies, and will leave tape adhesive behind. You'll notice everyone uses tape for 50/50 shots, and that the tape residue makes the swirling look much worse than the part which was not taped. Use it to mask up plastics and that's all.

i'm wondering if a quick rinse with water will just wash off the pollen...

most of it, some will be left though so you won't be able to dry the car without dragging it all over the surface and swirling it up. If that light pollen dust is a consistent problem then I'd get a California duster for it, and keep the car waxed nicely so it doesn't bond.

You will only remove the wax if you use something like Fairy Liquid to clean it. Use a shampoo like Megs Gold Class and it will not remove the wax,better still invest in a snowfoam lance and use a PH Neutral snow mixture.
 
Had been planning to sort my wheels for a while now, so finally got round to doing it today.

Car shampoo didn't work, pressure washer didn't work, auto glym custom wheel cleaner didn't work...so it was time for the wonder wheels, a paint brush, and about 4 hours, I used this Auto Glym alloy wheel sealant spray stuff too after cleaning, no idea how good it is or if it'll work, I hope it does though!

Managed to get pretty much all of it off, just some superficial spots here and there that I can live with!

Might get round to giving it a much needed clay this week if I'm not feeling lazy
