Europress did a pretty cool F1 Manager '96 game in, er, about 1996.

Best thing about it was the fact that the disc could be played in a CD player and you got the game music. :cool:

This was probably just as well as I was terrible at GP Manager. I spent all my money researching illegal turbo charged cars and other stupid stuff and then couldn't work out why I almost always finished last. Loved the music though.

Haha. I loved doing that as well. Wasn't there that illegal spying thing you could do where someone broke into another team for you and more often than not found nothing of use.

I've spent my day making a Pit Stop calculator for GPMP

Still. Kinda handy to put in the # Laps, Fuel Drop and Avg Pit Time to work out wether it;s best to do 0,1,2,3,4 or 5 pit stops in less than 5 seconds

Excellent! Was never able to get it to work before. I remember it well - even if I wasnt very good. Could make some funky looking cars though

Really wish they would make an updated one of these.

Edit: Says WING32.dll is missing

- replaced it, will hopefully work now.

Didn't microprose make a newer F1 management title than GPM2.

Grand prix world or soemthing like that.

Yeah. I never bought that but I don't think it was as cult a game as GPM2.

Those of us who play SI Games' Football Manager love to tell the SI guys that they should do an F1 manager and a cricket manager sim. :cool:

Can anyone remember which F1 manager game allows you to physically add sponsers to the car and design it in the wind tunnel? I think it is the first Microprose Grand Prix manager game. It must be because I think it was the only one I didnt try yesterday. Ideas?

just started playing GPM2 again because i saw the 2009 update (some great work done on that btw). I have 15 games under the TV for the PS3 which i need to play and im sitting playing GPM2...

yeah they did, it was called Grand Prix World

it wasn't anywhere near as good thou, a big disappointment

There definitely needs to be an official FIA version of a F1 manager game. Instructing drivers to crash, park on the track and telling over emotional Brazilian drivers to 'chill baby' must all feature... Being able to annoy Bernie Ecclestone could be something modded in at a later date.

Now there's a old feature I'd forgotten! Makes photocopying a Ferrari dossier seem rather tame in comparison.

I'm just trying to remember the various little oddities with GPM2, like using the "go easy on your tyres" slider causing the tyres to overheat after about 15 laps.

At least it look like F1CM/GPRM might actually see a public release, DD only but it looks incredibly in depth. Hopefully the mod that puts all the real names will be out very soon after release though.
