It does work without any software.

I hadn't used it before but there an option on the menu when you plug it in "tether" I clicked that and within less than 10 seconds I was up and running

Second time around it took less and 2 seconds.

Sounds like I need to flash the Desire ROM back onto my Nexus, standard Android doesn't do that AFAIK

deleting pdf's

Hi all..anyone know how to delete a pdf that I'd downloaded..tried everything and can't suss it! Also it may seem like a silly question but is it worth having an anti virus software on the phones as I saw Kaspersky selling one or are we safe from all the horrors of adware/malware/virus etc

Get something called Astro File Manager of the market, really useful tool For reasons I don't understand the delete option is burried in the edit menu Simply find the file in Astro (Probably in the downloads folder on your SD) press and hold, edit, delete

Can you confirm these come with 3's own windows messenger and Skype on 3?

All the current 3 phones are not branded at all.
I read somewhere that messenger and skype will be coming in the next month or so.

Fox have you left a message regarding you're PAC with the reps on Twitter as they seem to be offering far better deals, I also spoke to retentions a couple of times and couldn't get anything remotely close to what I was offered by the team via Twitter fyi

How does this work? I can't understand why you'd leave a message on a public twitter feed asking for a PAC instead of simply phoning up. They must know you are trying to get a good deal out of them?

Basically, got a message today, check it and exited, but message icon still says 1 message. Went through and clicked on every message in my inbox, but still a 1 appears on my messages icon.

Had to reboot the phone in the end to get rid of it.

Any ideas?

I'm having the same issue here.

well a bit of an update on the destop cradle, got the same email as with the pdair case about there being a system error and the order being processed while the item was out of stock(yeah bs, this was a buy now on ebay. if they didn't have stock why was the seller selling 20 of them? same as with the case). but this time rather than the it'll be 2/3weeks for the stock to be available, said they're waiting on stock due to the volcanic ash grounding flights.

well will find out shortly about the official screen protectors from jersy, ment to be available today(i.e. 21st). checked the order status few hours ago and it was still saying pre-order, hopefully they'll be updating it in several hours.

I didn't have stock availability issues, I got in there as soon as my local cpw had stock(30th march tho they were ment to be officially launching the following day, was a few days later than t-mobile but still. got the payg as I'd only taken out a o2 12month simplicity just a moth before)

Edit: Second time around I hadn't clicked connect and was loading cache =D Still sub 10 seconds though! Easy as pie.

But I'd still prefer to root the phone and use wireless tether, having the phone become a wireless access point and connecting your laptop's and other WiFi devices this way is by far the best method so far..

I won't get my Desire till next week by the looks of it and don't want to be stuck on an 18 month plan without playing with the phone!
