*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

Anybody had any problems with their MicroSD cards? Mine randomly stopped working a couple of days ago. I switched my phone on and received a notification "Blank SD Card" and "SD Card blank or has unsupported filesystem". I tried to format it but it wouldn't let me, so I tried taking it out, rebooting, putting it back in etc - no joy. I even tried a factory restore which proved pointless. The card is 100% borked.

After a bit of Googling I have found that I am not alone and was just wondering if anyone on OcUK has suffered a similar fate?

It is definitely a fault with the card because I have just gone and bought a cheap 2GB card and that works fine.

I do wonder why it would suddenly fail though? It has been working fine for the few weeks that I have had it and I'm really confuzzled as to what caused it??? What do you guys think?

Other than this slightly disappointing episode I have got to say that I absolutely love this phone and I'm so glad that I didn't get an iPhone.

Wish me luck trying to get through to MobilePhonesDirect customer services.....

hmm just looked at the status of my screen protector order, when I looked 3hrs ago it had changed to order taken but is now back to pre-order and the release date has changed to 28th. looking on the htc website says 12th may, was saying 21st when I last looked(well that was like last week).

Just took out Phones4u insurance on my phone AT 5.99 a month which is slightly less than their full price.

I guess £72 for the year isn't too bad, it includes everything you'd expect from insurance and the excess is £50 for the first 6 months and £10 thereafter or £25 any time.

It's still more money then you could otherwise pay. I don't see the point in wasting cash :)

Guys,

Tethering works AMAZING with this.

I've plugged it into my pc, set it to tether, and it automatically created a new network connection and then i was able to browse any site and stream youtube without issues. It took like no time at all.

Absolutely amazing.

... couldn't try too much as it was on my work's pc and i therefore pretty much bypassed the proxy and if caught would probably get sacked.... :-P

The graphics and colour was reduced ever so slightly (ie 8) but it was still watchable and streamable.

Yup, it was a life saver for me as I just moved house when I got my Desire and didn't have broadband for 2 weeks.
